Just heard that Dymock and Hasler are not getting on by all reports and after culling alot of the backroom staff I can see Dymock being next to go. Des will get his way. I bet they will then chase JD and away he goes. That's my tip. I bloody hope not.

Let's hope they go after Garth Brennan from the panthers as I'm sure I heard recently that he won't be there next year.

My Bulldogs mates ( yes, I know ! ) reckon that Hasler is Dragons bound for 2018. Didn't believe them at first but what happened last week could indicate the retention of Mary would mean no coach would embarrass the club next year and make it easier for desi to slot in.

Im tipping Broncos to be very strong now with Seibold at the helm and Souths to have a poor year(s).
I reckon if that happens JD is back to square one. He'll struggle to get a head coach role following wayne around.

So with the coaching merry go round just about complete and 5 clubs changing head coaches in a single year, JD’s still stuck following Wayne around?

Thought he was next head coach in waiting?

In today's Courier Mail it's indicating that 4 of the Brisbane coaching staff have been asked to take a weeks break while the club determines their future. JD is one of those.

Bennett has indicated that he doesn't intend to recruit additional staff or change the existing staff at Rabbits (including recruiting JD) however has left the door open in the even the situation changes.

He'll be at Souths joining Bennett by next week. Why would he ever contemplate rejoining Mary Mac and his merry men of former old boys. He escaped the madness of the inner circle and being ignored.

He would be one of the only candidates to coach our NRL side because all others would not put up with the current structure where pathways/recruitment are outside of his control.

Having said this, I really don't understand why the SGI Board does not just sack Mary and hire JD now - this week.

My point was, Penrith, Wests, Brisbane, Souths and Manly all changed head coaches within a 2 month period. That's almost 1/3 of the NRL.

And seemingly not one of those team considered JD a viable candidate?

Given the jizzfest on this forum about how great a coach JD is, it's interesting that none of those teams feel the same way.

I don't disagree. Was just highlighting the latest on him and Bennett.

And Brisbane did interview him at least. I also believe Gold Coast interviewed him when they were looking for a coach - was that last year or the year before? Anyway, as you point out, he's been passed up by at least 2 teams to-date and not considered for a number of others when looking tor replace their coach. His future might be rosy, but at the moment, the interest isn't there from NRL clubs.

But to be fair, it is not as if they have gone for rookies like JD from elsewhere.
Those clubs you mentioned have filled their positions with more of the most experienced best coaches avaiilable. Siebold had the runs on the board (sort of) as was the media were right behind him saying how great and innovative he was. With the Broncos they may of have been guilty of too much desperation and quick to pull the trigger to part with Wayne and jump all over Siebold, and it just may backfire yet.
Next lot of coaching movements for 2020 (maybe Dragons will be part of that merry go round) will paint a better picture re JD's prospects and standing in the game.

I think this is part of giboz point though - why are we calling for another rookie coach when every other team is filling the role with experience?

My view is that we let other teams blood the rookies for a change. We can then, as Broncos have, poach the best from the bunch.
