Jason Ryles - Head coach of Parramatta from 2025

That was what, 4 years ago when Lane, Junior, Reg, Matto, etc. were in their mid-20's and at their peak.
We surprisingly had the fourth best defence in 2021 (all those Ferguson overlaps made me expect us to be a lot worse). All those players were still at their peak in 2022 (Matterson made his origin debut, Paulo + RCG played origin and Lane had his best season ever) but our defence dropped off a cliff. We made the grand final despite having a mediocre 8th ranked defence.

I'm stoked about Ryles (allegedly) making the decision to not take Barrett as an assistant. The joint needs a complete reset and any players that don't like it can f**k off too.

Same I am on board with him as head coach and cleaning out the staff.

I was keen on Hannay until I heard he was happy to work with whatever staff the club wanted him to have. It was a red flag, Ryles wanting his own staff and a chance to put his own stamp on the club makes much more sense. We need to wash away the Bea Arthur stain. Players and coaches alike.

bosses have been rapt with the efforts of Barrett since taking over and visited him to tell him in person he’d missed out on the coveted job to Ryles, despite the backing of high-profile stars such as Mitchell Moses.
We not going to talk about this line from the SMH article?

Buzz also reported Gutho will lose captaincy and Mitchel Moses will take over as Gutho focuses on likely his final year.

It’s only Buzz probably joining dots but I definitely think it’s the right option. Gutho a club legend but think he is very focused on tearing up the joint and starting fresh and I like it.

Be interesting to see where Gutho ends up playing if Blaize goes to FB.

I’m keen to see who it is but I’ve got no preferences. Happy to leave it up to the big fella. I like the fact he’s wanting things done his way. Exactly what we need.

So we have decided Mitch is getting sent off more next year.

Agree that Buzz is making it up as far as he has mail. Most likely correct however.

And with Lomax in the centres... Likely Gutho at 14 I reckon, unless Penisini regresses further to Cup level.
Lomax will not be playing in the centres. He was quoted as recently as last week by Fox from Origjn camp saying he is happy to play wing at Parramatta and just wants to be a valuable team mate. Thry asked him if he realised he was now the best winger in the game and he said he thinks Luai is still the best but he’s happy with the recognition.
