Ok so its pretty much a fait accompli then. You don't deliberately miss a recovery session, be a dick about it by posting on twitter what you are up to then argue with the coach. That is certainly fired territory.

I was wrong, it does look like he is trying to get sacked. If that is the case then i certainly hope the NRL refuse to register his contract as they did with Carney. Its not fair that Canberra should have to discipline these guys only for someone else to pick them up.

On another note, what is it about this footy team that keeps producing these dickheads? Is it a lack of senior players to point them in the right direction? They have had a really young side for a very long time. Culture can sometimes go backwards in that situation.

Aside from being a complete boob, what exactly would Ferguson be facing the sack for? Dugan is the one who shouldnt have been drinking while injured, as far as im aware there is no alcohol bans in place for the team outside of the injured ones. Then he turned up to training like everyone else, except Dugan.

He seems like an absolute tool but it seems a little harsh that he's also facing the sack for not really doing anything wrong.

I think you will find that most people in and around the Raiders don't expect Ferguson to be fired.
Though he has acted like a bloody moron on many occasions (and I am not trying to defend his behavior), most think that Dugan is the ringleader in this and that if we cut the head off the snake the tail will stop following. The only people that are claiming that Ferguson may/will be fired are journos looking to make the story bigger than it really is.

Also by extension, there have been some claims around that Sandor Earl may also be fired, he is not in any trouble and will not be fired or reprimanded.

It's more to do with the juniors culture down here I think.

We take a lot of pride in our juniors down here and many of these kids start getting noticed by us fans at quite a young age (some times as young as 15-16). So sometimes a gun player comes along, often not from the best circumstances and and suddenly he is being treated like he is more important then other people and told he is the best in the world and suddenly he can get pretty much whatever he wants. Pretty quickly some of these kids start to grow a huge ego and start to think that they are irreplaceable and then one thing turns into another and before you know it he has ended up as another Dugan or Carney.

Of course this is not always the case when you have blokes like Fensom, Croker, Sammy Williams, etc. etc. Who come through this same system and turn out to be some of the nicest, most humble guys you could meet (particularly Fensom, I have nothing but good things to say about him, on or off the field).

Don't know what it is at Canberra. They have a history of not taking shit from their players, regardless of talent. But they still manage to keep producing players that think they're above the rules. Oh well. Cut Dugan, hope the rest follow.

On a side note, the Raiders medical staff need a clean out. Player after player is getting long term injuries. It has to be something to do with physio.

I was thinking pretty much the same. Dumb kids get lauded like they're the next [insert name of relevant champion] and don't have the smarts to handle it, and end up being total douches.

Seriously the most shocking thing about this whole affair to me is that Dugan hasn't been on the twitter making himself look like an even huger imbecile.

This...

That tweet wasn't composed by Bogan, not enough 'bra's or links to Ray Lewis in those 140 characters.

.

Exactly.

Dugan is a low, low breed of human who happens to have amazing footballing talent. At the moment he thinks he is a hero or something and doesn't realise just how good he has it.

If the NRL allow him to sign for someone else, he will remain a tool (probably become a bigger one as he will have been rewarded for his ways).

Do how ong before the Roosters try to pick up these too? Or Cronulla, if they are still around. Good on Canberra for not taking shit but look at the talent going to other clubs. You have to feel for Raiders fans

I think there is a very strong chance Blake Ferguson is given one last chance with the club without the influence of Josh Dugan.

Two years ago i couldnt contemplate this but Josh Dugan is as good as gone and i cant wait.

we got dis

has skeepe defended Bogan yet?

surely this is some referees fault

If you could read you would see that I'm calling for him to be sacked.

Strong reports that he faked his injury on the weekend make me think that all those calling him soft may have had a point.

Ummm...Todd Carney? The time he was driving with a lower grader in the car, got pulled over & legged it from the police. The lower grader (Steve Irwin, from memory) got sacked. The club admitted they didn't also sack Carney as he was too good a player.

It is a shame just on the money the club has put into him. Lets face it he's had issues with authority since his late teens. I could excuse it and his other quirks because he seriously used to put everything he had into games but last weekend his jog across the field to let in a try with apparently no real rib injury says it all. Dugan of a few years ago would have taken that ball.

In fact he scored a try again st George a couple of years ago by picking up a soward kick in even more dangerous traffic.
