Ummm...Todd Carney? The time he was driving with a lower grader in the car, got pulled over & legged it from the police. The lower grader (Steve Irwin, from memory) got sacked. The club admitted they didn't also sack Carney as he was too good a player.

And Dugan himself has pulled little stunts aimed at annoying authority figures since he was playing sg ball. Some people do have a genuine dislike of authority. It doesn't matter in some careers but it matters hugely in a team sport where there is structured command.

Do how ong before the Roosters try to pick up these too? Or Cronulla, if they are still around. Good on Canberra for not taking shit but look at the talent going to other clubs. You have to feel for Raiders fans

The club has to take a hardline stance on this kind of shit and not only take out the trash but weed it out before it gets into first grade. I can't believe I'm only a few years older than most of these idiots, feels like a generation.

I know I'm a sharks fan but I have to laugh at fergie being the victim under Dugan.

Is it because he comes across as a dumb follower? From an outsider on paper it looks like you would give Dugan one final chance and get rid of the lesser Ferguson. Plus it is not as if Ferguson is in trouble for the first time either.

I do feel sorry for the raiders and I hope Price is not tempted to bring him to the Dragons. We don't need a fullback any more but we are desperate for a half back.... but not THAT desperate!

Well based on media reports (so ranging from maybe true to completely made up) fergo fronted training and Dugan didn't. one has clearly more desire to continue playing for the raiders. I mean the dudes obviously dumb as shit if duges can just go Welp lets have a few drinks instead of training and Ferguson goes...sure why not but there does seem to be some commitment to fix it from Ferguson.

If he's done all this to get fired then surely the NRL wont allow him to play until next year. Faking an injury fmd thats weak as piss.

TBH I think Ferguson will go further than Dugan in Rugby League. He's developed a lot physically in the last 2 seasons which has complemented the wealth of natural ability that he has. If he cuts the sh*t off-field then he'll be playing rep in no time. Laurie Daley has told him as much.

The big thing for mine is that Fergo actually enjoys his football and I don't think I can say the same for Dugan. Seems like one of those kids you'd play with when you were younger that didn't want to train and just rocked up for games.

I hope Fergo is given another chance but if they dont want to risk it and cut the whole cancer out I wont blame them.

He has a houso mentality
And what is that? Do you mean the stereotype bandied around by people who have only seen the Today Tonight stories and the comedy show, or do you actually have a perspective based on lengthy experience?
Housos and Redheads; the last bits of fair game in a PC world.

Yeah, growing up with the have nots in a wealthy culture skews your viewpoint. Not everyone uses it as an excuse though.

Digressing from my diatribe, would not want Dugan to come to Saints. He has a houso mentality and needs a tough, respected and older coach. Not matey Price.

Dugan owes his fans respect

Phil Gould

I feel for the Raiders fans.

Coaches call them the ‘‘modern-day superstars’’. These are the selfish players who simply see the game as a life-support system just for them. They can be hard to handle. The self-published images of Canberra pair Josh Dugan and Blake Ferguson drinking on a rooftop and flipping the bird to the world must have been like a dagger through the heart of passionate Canberra fans who made the trek to Penrith on Sunday to support their team in the opening game of the season. Fans really hurt when their team loses. However, it must hurt even more to see how two of their most talented players reacted to the loss. If Dugan and Ferguson can’t show their club, their teammates and their fans more respect than that, then they don’t deserve any respect in return.

So I guess Penrith is out of the question.

I think that is a bit unfair plenty of players from houso estates in league who stay out of trouble. I say Dugan has a huge ego, is a complete wa?ker/d?ckhead who doesn't appreciate how lucky he is.

I hate to see raiders lose another potential superstar that will just join another club like carney did. Maybe suspend him for three months and make him work as a Brickie labourer on a basic wage during his suspension - then he will realise what hard work is and appreciate how easy he has it.

Its also not just poor people who have these attitudes to authority. At the end of the day most teenagers do. Not to the point of Dugan at that age but a small one. I think the club has to look at how players are educated.

He was allowed to continue progressing based on talent with that gigantic chip on his shoulder and its culminated in this. In many ways our hand was forced as far as playing him. In his debut year he was given a taste of first grade where he was good and sent back to under 20s (furner likes doing this) and he was like a cheat player down there he just destroyed them. So it was pointless playing him there. Then they moved him to souths Logan where he also killed it but was also heavily targeted by dickheads.

He would have been best off developing in a reserve grade comp. Where he was going to get belted a little less while his body developed but he just kept outgrowing each comp he was put into.

If the rumours are true, their behaviour was much worse towards their neighbours than that article is letting on.

The pair, but specifically Dugan, are in big trouble and a lot of the Canberra sports reporters are tweeting this morning that it wouldn't be surprising if Dugan was sacked.

Reportedly, Dugan was already on his last warning ala Carney.

Fergo is an absolute tosser as well but most Raiders fans are convinced that it's Dugan that is the ringleader and the cancer in the group. The rest of the players are furious at him.

I never thought I'd say this but based on his behaviour and how injury prone he is, I hope they cut him. Reece Robinson is a far more reliable player and suits our style at the back anyway.

But this story isn't over, expect big ramifications for him soon.

injury prone and mental behaviour with and without the grog could be a drug issue.

Also get rid of this fake bling (C)Rap culture that seems to have taken over the world in the past 18 years or so.

from the media reports, the difference between them in the eys of the Senior Leadership Group is rather large.

Whilst both are dickheads off the paddock, the SLG think Fergo still continues to put in the hard yards at training, show up to his rehab and gives his all in games. They dont feel the way with Dugan.

I do think Fergo is dumb and easily lead. I also think he probably thinks since Dugan can get away with it, so can he. I tend to think by sacking dugan and giving Fergie one last chance, it might give Ferguson a wake up call that he sorely needs.

There are Housing Commission Tennants and then there are Houso's. He has the attitude of the latter
