So the changes i made, were a recolor of the background to red, font to black with a gold trim and logo border to gold.
Changed the place font from WESTERN to WEST COAST, then added front teeth, adjusting the whole head for the bears mouth to open slightly moreso..
Then on the bears left cheek, shaped the gold light into the shape of Australia's West Coast, from about north of Broome to around of Albany

Love it Toomuchsoup. I’d love to see your take on an Adelaide Ram side (that would be hard to pull off considering how similar they are to the Knights) and a second NZ side. I remember your version on the Brisbane Jets bid and that was also brilliant
And for the second NZ side, I’d like to see them in predominantly darkish forest green, but if the Jets are to eventually be introduced then I’d obviously leave that for them. So I guess black and yellow or the Orcas bids colours of Jade/teal with black, but then that might be a bit too similar to the Sharks.

It will be interesting what the designs would be for a second NZ side. Particularly if this Bears/Perth bid gets approved

I’m hoping for 20 sides in the future - Perth, second NZ side and a toss up between Adelaide and a third Brisbane side

* Redcliffe DOLPHINS aka "the" > (ala SthQld Crushers)
*WEST COAST BEARS > (ala Perth reds)
*P.N.G PRIDE > (ala NthQld Cows)
*SOUTHERN ORCAS > (ala NZ Warriors)

In that order, all within this decade (2032)
Maybe a bit longer on the Orcas
Expansion the same way, without SL or rushing it, back to the same areas

Why would Wellington give their brand up to the South Island?

Honest mistake and no they shouldn’t. I momentarily forgot about the Wellington Orcas. The suggestion was more in relation to the avoidance of vague geographical locators like ‘Northern’, ‘Western’ or ‘Southern’

Well folks here are all for " Western Bears" as the name for the perth/bears bid, that to me is the vague geographical locator... which I'm not too fond of... and the only reason i said "southern orcas" was coz that was the actual bid name some years ago, not sure if thats changed, or they have something better, and other than chalmers commenting some months ago on NZ2, we haven't really seen anything about it since

Fair enough MugaB. I just don’t like them. If the Orcas do get in and they want to have a side that represents both Wellington and Christchurch, it’ll be hard for one (I think too difficult) in terms of logistics and two to find an appropriate name. Maybe just go with ‘the’Orcas lol. Have an instant ‘the’ rivalry

With Wests already in the competition, if they are going to put in a Western Australian side, they really need to be explicit like Western Australia or West Coast etc

Agreed, thats my train of thought, its more descriptive the "west coast" i feel folks dont like it coz of WC eagles, there's already the SGball Pirates using that... so im not sure why perth has to divert from it.

As far as "Southern" for NZ2, im not sure what kind of name can encapsulate both areas and not be either too vague or non descriptive... cant be south island, shouldn't be southern either.. ????

Love the west coastline addition.

Really liking the Milwaukee Bucks-ish color scheme - it'd be unique to the NRL, and not limiting their appeal to the rest of NZ (which could happen if they just took the red & black of Canterbury province)

Not sure about them keeping the Bulls name from the Canterbury RL provincial team, though - maybe Kea (the alpine parrot) as a neutral brand?

For two countries who have an abundance of indigenous birds, we really don't have many bird mascots/logos in the competition.

May need a tweak in colors to brown/orange & green or teal though. :/
