As if Pearce would pay the $50k. It was a $75k fine. I haven't seen the footage of browmich and not sure if it has gone public. But the video no doubt didn't help pearces cause. Don't forget the $100,000 he would miss out on in the World Cup 2017.

Like I said 75k is still over triple the amount Jesse is giving up plus 6 more games. IF the NRL doesn't increase the punishment it will be ridiculous.

It's little wonder that players have difficulty transitioning to life after football when they are being supervised 24/7 by clubs and their managers. Must be very difficult to do tasks like cooking all of your own meals, managing finances and going out in public without a chaperone.

You don't get it, one minute you're walking along a quiet Canberra street at 5am, just out for a casual stroll, then bam before you know it you're buying cocaine from a bloke you've never met. Non footy players just don't understnd the constant pressures..

None of this would have happened if they'd been taking their leisure on a quiet rooftop with a couple of breezers.

Not sure why everyone is comparing the clubs penalties in this case to the nrl's penalties for other players stuff ups. In a lot of other cases clubs have done nothing and let the nrl deal with it.

This might be smart from the clubs as it might confuse the nrl into thinking they have already punished them and forget about it.

Beastiality, sexism and pissing yourself isn't a great look. Ask Monaghan. He got the sack and went to SL.

Browmich has so far got 2 weeks suspended, loss captaincy of Nzrl as well as dropped from senior playing group at storm and dropped from the NZ World Cup team at the end of the year. For me that's a bigger discipline than missing 8 club games. How much $$ for a test match?
Don't forget The Nrl hasn't handed there punishment yet.

That's if he actually remains dropped for the world cup. We may just see this news story blow over and when it comes time to pick the NZ squad, he is named, along with a statement that whilst what he did was wrong, he has shown he regrets his actions, and has been working hard to making amends.

Not sure if there's any truth to it or if it has been mentioned here yet but the word over at The Bai Stand is that Bromwich and PRoctor are both set to be EXCLUDED from the Kiwis squad for the World Cup.

As a Roos fan I'm delighted but for people saying 2 matches and the associated punishments are too soft I would suggest that would be the punishment that will be like the knife through the heart for both of them.

Club sanctions doled out, NRL punishment maybe to follow and the NZRL looking to exclude them from the World Cup for their indescresion? It's all adding up.

Bromwich and proctor to be banned from the world cup apparently

Now how stupid do the clubs look for hitting them with a wet lettuce. Well done NZRL. Severely hurts their WC chances but bravo for having the nuts to do the right thing. Watching NRL, Titans and Storm?

Even as a Storm fan I think it is pretty weak.

To be fair if Turdy was doing his job this should have not required for the clubs to come out on their own. Fish rotting at the head.

I feel the Nrl has been quite good with there actions in the past couple years. "Bad form" is an instant media issue. If it's a video of something it's there in black and white. They can be disciplined. If they are charged but plead not guilty the nrl has to give the player the benefit of the doubt. If it's a serious offence in B Stewart's/radradra case an initial (bad look) suspension might be given then after court, necessary action is then taken or not. I feel for radradra due to his mrs "making false claims" and not really receiving any punishment for her lies.

Excellent...so the best way to ensure Melb dont win the comp this year is to pay 3 girls to come out with sexual assult claims against Smith, Cronk and Slater 3 -4 weeks out from the Grand Final ?

Brett Stewart got a 4 week ban for being drunk you peanut.

It had NOTHING to do (officially) with the bullshit charges brought against him.

Try again.

These two idiots should cop a LOT more than 2 weeks. If it was not a Storm player involved you'd say so too. But please tell us all how that's not the case and you'd look at all identical situations the same.

Officially that is, David Gallop felt he needed to be seen to be doing something due to the serious allegations against Stewart. Allegations that he was cleared of in the end. Just a stupid knee-jerk reaction after all, the treatment of Stewart was a disgrace.

Yeah spot on mate.

The whole thing was a farce.

These blokes are guilty, no doubt. Regardless of international league sanctions, there should be a stronger penalty at NRL level. It's just farcical the way the NRL stumble from one incident to the next and are entirely dictated to by the media as to their reaction.
