You're a rough marker IMO if you are criticising Morriss for walking away.

Does anyone disagree the sharks achieved their ceiling the last 2 seasons given the squad they have?

A number of big name players in the squad not delivering in accordance with the money they are on.

The Cleary situation wasn’t really that similar, Cleary asked for a release for the following year as he had an offer from Penrith.

Warriors management said they weren't prepared to offer him an extension at the time (first third of 2011) as they didn't believe he was the answer to their future yet. Then he signed with Penrith, but obviously kept doing his job well enough and held the playing group enough to get them to a GF. I know it's not comparable, but I meant in terms of setting your own coaching standards and sticking to them no matter what the situation.

Now that it sounds like Morris was pushed, obviously that changes my view.

indeed, but most have been pretty busted.

He’s spent most of his time with a large portion of his cap tied up with players unavailable which wasn’t his fault. He didn’t even sign them.

I remembered a quote from one of my favourite movies the Godfather part 3 “you will take control. We'll gladly put you at the helm of our little fleet. But our ships, must all sail in the same direction. Otherwise, who can say how long, your stay with us will last? It's not personal, it's only business. You should know, Godfather”

the ships weren’t sailing in the same direction, It’s not Personal it’s only business, kinda explains it all.

Seems a little strange, Morris was doing a solid if unspectacular job at Cronulla, and they’re replacing him with a bloke who has 0 experience as an NRL head coach. Plenty of spuds have been highly recommended based on their work as an assistant. Trent Barrett immediately comes to mind.
Fitzgibbon Coaching since 2011.Coached Country, NSW Blues Assistant
We will take him as an assistant at the warriors next year. He can replace Brown when he inevitably fails.

Proof of the pudding will be in the sharks record over next couple of years. If they get to another gf genius move, if they sit outside the 8 or get bundled out first play off game each year, waste of time and morris may have done better. On,y time will yptell if sharks management got it right or not,

Who is to say this isn't just the Roosters giving Fitz a gig so when Robbo finishes he already has FG coaching experience or they can see if he can coach or not independently? I'm sure if the Roosters want him back eventually they will get their man.

Robinson is 44 years of age, Fitzgibbon is 43, if Robbo is intent on being a career coach he may stay at the Roosters until he is Bellamy's age, 61. Fitzy could be in for a long wait.
