Well done Mark.

I filled out a form recently to get my old footbal club membership number back and badge. Any ideas when that is coming ? Not just for me but for all of us that filled it out.
They are not ready yet, they are still being printed... not sure if we'll have to collect them but I don't think so.
The girl I spoke to said they were having issues with that NRL CRM system again

2011 Football Club Badges, are finally available. These should be in the post shortly. Not sure if they are only for "Numbered" members of the club.

This thread is obviously the reason that Stuart signed with us. Master stroke for addressing the thread directly to him:

'Sticky: Join the Parramatta Football Club!!!'

Can't get any more direct than that.

I'm glad Ricky read it but I'm hoping Wanderers fans don't. Things could get interesting in the next five years and especially if our club is stupid enough to move more or even all our home games to ANZ.
How many Wanderers fans will become members of the Leagues Club and how will this impact board elections in the future? What if a group of soccer fans mounted a coup and won control of the board room while the Football Team was still being run by the Leagues Club?
The Leagues Club right next door to the Wanderers home ground could be seen as a cash cow for the A League team as well as a perfect base long term for their club. In any case there is no doubt that when the A League season starts there will be an increase in Leagues Club members who are all soccer fans.
Under ths circumstances I think it is imperative that we continue to play the majority, if not all, of our home games at Parra Stadium and the control of our Football team needs to be handed back to the Football Club. It is not beyond the relms of possibility that we could potentially lose both our spiritual home and our club if the wrong decisions are made.
The first step I see in securing the future of our Football Club is to appoint an experienced Football CEO and for them to take over the financial control of ticketing, marketing, merchandise and the football grant etc. All these operations currently take place across the road anyway. I don't accept that we can't have a separation and have the Leagues Club act as a guarantor only and simply provide a grant.
With the A League an emerging threat now is the time to act. I just hope the board aren't complacent with this and sit on their hands because in years to come if the Wanderers were to become successful while the Eels are struggling we could find ourselves in serious trouble.

are you geeing up Tony???...I agree with gettting a football savvy CEO on board but to suggest that directors are a threat to a bunch of football fans is nothing short of laughable...

Yes but clearly a smart Board would establish a synergy with the Wanderers. Post match functions etc is a win for both clubs.

I was talking about the reverse. A powerful, influential and co ordinated group of soccer fans could be a threat to our directors. Laugh all you like but if they get over a thousand voting members that actually bother to vote, the political landscape of our club could change for ever and so to could it's priorities.
Let's say we stop playing at Parramatta Stadium. I have no doubt that we will see a reduction in Leagues fans renewing their memberships and ceasing to be eligble to vote. The Wanderers have signed a 5 year deal so the number of their fans becoming members will go from zero to who knows what? If they become successful their numbers will grow while ours continue to diminish.
I'm not saying it is likely that our club's priorities could shift from Rugby League towards Soccer but it is possible. We are no longer talking about having voting members who are not interested in Rugby League that are only interested in the pokies or club facilities, we will have voting members that care about the Wanderers more than the Eels.

I expect that is exactly what will happen. They should feel right at home after 5 years which is why I am raising this now.

mate, the wanderers project may barely get off the ground if you take into account on the previous abortion that was the Parramatta Powe, let's see if in year 2 or 3 of their venture they average more than 8000 per game..I thimk they have bigger concerns than running coups on the LC board.

They had 5000 turn up to a trial match that was barely publicised so they're off to a good start. As for Parra Power you have to hand it to Fitzy the man was ahead of his time.

I'm sure the Wanderers would love to have the resources of the leagues club behind them. They would be mad not to try and get a few guys on the board.

probably too ahead of his time you're right but to suggest that we're in danger of being overun by a soccer club is as premature as suggesting that Pat O'Hanlon could be a great coach one day...
