Can't argue with you about Brian Smith, I really believe differen't type of players will respond to him. Some like him some obviously can't work with him.

I attend the Wellington Batercard Cup matches. Joshua certainly wouldn't let you down.

Greedy? In NZ they are reporting that he just wants what the other reserve grade players at Parra get. Do you expect a NZer to play for lower pay?

He may be unproven in the NRL (simply because he's never had an opportunity), but he has made the Junior Kiwis which is not a bad achievement.

Happy to keep him anyway. Also hope we keep Leuluai.

He has to prove himself 1st and then the money will flow, but this just shows what he is all about. And thats Money. It pains be to say this But I'd rather someone like Luke Burt playing for us than someone who's thinking is all about money. Please keep him with you.

but it could mean, and I stress could mean that Zap is looking after the signing of junior players while Brian is looking after first grade and premier league/part time players.

I'm clutching at straws here!...as i don't know the finer points of their responsabilities and i dare say not many here do.

i think Josh Davis could really (and will Really) be something special from ALL of the reports of his play in both the Bartercard Comp in NZ and for the Junior Kiwi's against Australia......

and now, 3 seconds after half the people here were naming him in their sides for 2005......its now like, "oh stuff him if he doesn't wan't to play for pride in our jumper".....oh boo hoo

The fact is, he wanted what the other reggies got.

Now, thats not that much to ask for. One of the reasons the Roosters are successful I believe is because the Jersey Flegg comp I believe (I may be wrong) doesn't have a salary cap. They've therefore spent a bit extra, and brought through the likes of the other Kiwi centre, and captain Iosila Soaila or whatever his name is, and a bunch of other hombres. I think their theory would be, pay a little bit more now, bring them into the culture, and then make them want to be loyal to the club. It seems to have worked.

I personally would have paid Davis the little bit extra and reaped the rewards. Seems a pretty short minded decision. As short minded as some of these posts. One second, as the above said, he's in half your first grade sides, Josh superstar Davis this, Josh superstar Davis that, I want my daughter to mother a child to him ya-ya-ya, now that he wants what he believes he's entitled to (which isn't a great deal!!!) he's a money hungry biggot who you don't want at the club. The Roosters may be greedy, but they're successful, they wouldn't pass this opportunity up if they'd worked with him on a scholarship basis, that much is for sure.
