He isn't up to it physically anymore. 33 and 3 knee recos. His best footy wasn't his last season at Canberra. He was declining. They didn't want him anymore. His 2020/2021 was showing signs of this when he hit 30yrs old. I mean he was ok but nothing like the guy he once was. It happens. Look at N.Brown. selected for origin a few years ago. Not that old and now a NSW CUP player.
Players can't get old fast and once they do you can't turn back the clock. Not in physical sports.

I think we all may have expected Hodgson to struggle physically especially early in the season but for such an experienced dummy half his decision making has been diabolical.

The best was last night when we’ve got them totally shot on the right and he shuffles like a corpse out from dummy half and takes the hit up. We lose the momentum and Guth stupidly throws the pass anyway and we gift them 6 points. It was a 10 point turnaround I’m not going to say 12 because our 1.2m dollar half couldn’t kick for shit atm.

1st half as well i reckon there was 3 plays attacking the tryline where he went left when he should have gone right.

It kept the defence honest. It doesn't matter how slow and weak you are if they don't turn up. Remember he scored a 40 metre try against Manly and set up Junior Paulo against the Storm. Smart players need support runners.

I can't see Hodgson being dropped completely, primarily because the alternative (Hands) isn't really an 80 minute player.

But I wouldn't expect you to get it - you have to know something about the actual game to pick that up.

I think Hodgson knows more about rugby league than you or your friends.
