It would be nice if the coach and his staff ever had a plan B ffs, plenty called out Hodgson was old and past it, the new rules means that game has totally passed him by Let alone his injury record. But no we were just told to shut up and stop whinging, now that we were proven right we should just suck it up again and stop whinging lol.
As I said, it's cool to whinge 24/7 but what's the team look like if you retire him today ? Next week. Next month ? Do you really want a Ron Massey hooker as the next guy up ?

So much shoulda coulda woulda but no solutions.

That’s almost like a peer reviewed rugba leeg assessment, coach. Almost.

TBH I get that the old grey horse Hodgson will probably not go around again next year and more than likely make a valuable contribution in the staff if he wants to hang around, but he’s all we have to support a rookie right now. All these pages of merkins wishing him to retire NOW have no realistic plan B and certainly no plan B that presents itself with better outcomes than what we have right now.

Sometimes we just have to suck it up and go with what we have and stop complaining.
And yet, he is not supporting the rookie.

He played 55 ineffective, stifling minutes in a clear lead role.

At the moment it is not about who is better, because we don't know if those in the lower grades will handle it better - what we DO know is that he is clearly not up to it and a detriment to our team.

We shouldn’t have put ourselves in this situation. Many here called it off the bat. And many defended the clubs decision.

And yet the professional coach lacked the foresight that many critics and experts (let alone fans) had and also lacked the ability have to a plan B (by your own admission).

This is a failing in itself.

Suggest you go and talk to some experienced coaches, they can see the faults and make sensible comments without spinning it for its own sake. Hodgson is on borrowed time, shouldn’t really be starting and that’s a fact, the week he didn’t get on the field we played well and with some speed.

Hodgson appears a genuine good guy, but he knows that his time is up, and so should the selectors and limit his minutes. You would be happy that he gets time on the field, and most others would be more than happy to lessen his contribution.

I'd start Hands and bring Hodgson on for the last 20

Let's hope his money doesnt count against cap. He moves like an old mole

I'd have JA playing at 14 to cover Hands.

One retire-him-next-week solution so far. Thank you.

The rest just want to whinge.

I don't think JA will make it as a halfback. If he could play back up 9 then he becomes a decent utility option. His defense is ok. His kicking would be good. A lot depends on his passing game.

Defend till the end!! You and Pou side by side!!

You blokes are like the band on the Titanic, water is rushing around your ankles but play on boys play on!!

One solution is to give Hands more time and limit the old cripple to 25-30 mins. Him getting 55mins the other night was simply laughable.

When the club was looking to sign Hodgson, you called posters not impressed with this as whingers. And you defended the club.

the signing has proved so far to be up there with the signing of sandow and watmough. The same posters are still either ‘whinging’ or defending.

u can’t have it both ways and call them whingers despite them having the right opinion on the matter.

maybe you need to concede you just had the wrong opinion and the club got it wrong. It’s not a sin you know.

Derp, I am talking about the merkins who want him retired now today yesterday. Obviously keeping him playing is the sensible solution - even you can see that.

You're not very good at this. We signed him 10 December 2021.

On 21 March 2022 his did his ACL.

Also you totally made up the bit about me calling merkins whingers in December 2021 or any time about Hodgson..

You realise that criticism is an acceptable form of analysis in these circumstances.

we don’t have to have the solution to know that the current scenario is horribly wrong - particularly when that scenario has been wholly engineered by the management and coach.

We lost our hooker still yet to peak, and replaced him with a mid 30’s player way past his best. The alarm bells were well and truly ringing way before he done his 3rd acl in March 2022. Shame you didn’t see the light and got caught out with your pants pulled down and a used rubber up your clacker.
