He needed to be able to hold his end up defensively. Especially playing with Jnr. He failed miserably on all counts, imo.
Every hooker 'fails miserably' the more they're left isolated. But Hodgson made adjustments as the season went on and was isolated far less often. The five games after the Broncos, before he succumbed to injury, he tackled at 92% but more importantly made 0.56 tackles per minute. We didn't exactly improve without him.
The best adjustment he made was the one to his neck that resulted in his retirement...

Where did anyone day that??? He won't be missed and it's better for the club moving forward but no one on here wished him injury. Even though plenty of us could see it happening........
