Hey OT, I can’t resist the obvious pun….Lots of parallels between the Hopoate & Amone family situations
IMO that is more relevant than the perceived culture of the club.
He has been charged with recklessly inflict GBH which carries 10 years. I’m surprised he hasn’t been charged with recklessly inflict GBH with intent which carries 25 years. He must have had some idea that chasing a bloke from a number of roof tops armed with a hammer may have resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries. You are right, if proven he is doing time. This is no laughing matter. There is a zero tackle article which details the incident.
Amone allegedly chased the guy down with a hammer and even went as far as jumping on to a neighbouring roof when the victim did the same to get away from him. After hitting him with the hammer, it is alleged the victim fell off the roof and hit an air conditioning unit on his way down suffering serious injuries.
Amone will do time for this, that is a certainty.
You may not like Woods or Mbye for their playing ability but I'd like to think both are well esteemed individuals who wouldn't commit heinous crimes like Amone is alleged to have.
Yes, out of all the misdemeanors from our own playing group in the recent past, the other incidents pale in comparison to this by the very fact of what we both realise which is Amone will more than likely be in prison over this.He has been charged with recklessly inflict GBH which carries 10 years. Well said for mine. If proven, this kind of aberrant behaviour seems not to be anything for which a club culture could be held to account. No doubt the charges will be vigorously defended but on the reporting it was a very bad incidentYes, out of all the misdemeanors from our own playing group in the recent past, the other incidents pale in comparison to this by the very fact of what we both realise which is Amone will more than likely be in prison over this.
I'm very disappointed in Amone as like many I believed he was a good young man and had a bright future. When you read the reports it makes me question my own judgement about him over the past few seasons.
As an aside, people can blame the club culture if they like but there is a big difference between a player committing a crime of this magnitude and players not showing for awards nights/throwing a bbq during lockdown etc. The club culture is irrelevant in stopping an incident like this in my opinion.
Am I missing the joke @Crush or @SBD82?
You’re forgiven.Am I missing the joke @Crush or @SBD82?
I must have a piss poor sense of humour for not being able to see the funny side in one of our brightest prospects throwing his future away.
Clearly the most faithful supporters instead of being disappointed should take a light hearted and jocular view on all of this, sorry for being misguided.
Yes your right. As the (recklessly inflict GBH) occurred in company that is a circumstance of aggravation which has a 14 year maximum penalty. The no fault stand down covers serious criminal offences with a maximum of 11 years or more so it will be in play in this instance.SMH, I think or
possibly Mercury reported his charge carries max 14 years in NSW so would come under the benchmark for no fault stand down clause. Not sure how reliable that reportage is
I don't see any funny side. This is way more serious. They sacked Paul Vaughn for a bar-be-queue, Todd Carney got banned for an imbecilic act that harmed no-one. This has to be the end of Amone's football career.Am I missing the joke @Crush or @SBD82?

Surely this gives Bud first dibs on 6 ( or 7 ) Why block him again by bringing someone from outside?Agree but we have not heard the full story..yet.
However will we get some cap money to spend if he is stood under the JDB policy if it meets the 11 yr jail potential whatever the parameter. What 5/8th's are on the market?. Keary, Douehi
What!!! And block Bud again? This surely would be a pathway’s killer.Id have a crack on a 1yr deal for Blake Austin - 30yo in the UK at least experienced, great attacker average defender but would make a great foil for Ben and the younger guys in the backline
Let's give the kid a good go now .....What!!! And block Bud again? This surely would be a pathway’s killer.
