Pretty ordinary, but I'll back whatever stance the club takes on this one. There's no grey area with the facts, but there are some very grey areas outside that. If we sack him, he deserves it....if we're willing to give him a second chance, then his peers and his coach obviously feel he deserves it.

My my my how your opinion changes to suit....:sarcasm:
Good on you on showing compassion though as you take into consideration of the grey areas, Junior will be most appreciative of your avowed stance in regard to him.
Your drive to see him welcomed at Parra will be warmly approved by the female followers of the Eels, especially as he was TRIED and convicted by a Court of Law..

Dude you are an idiot if the highest degree. You have taken idiotism and blasted it through into the stratospheric realms of no return.

How many times was f**knuckle Carney convicted in the courts while in Canberra? Yet the Raiders kept him On and on and on.

So because his is different you brand him a idiot.

Carney sisnt beat up a woman. He was just a drunk moron.

Osbourne did say he wants a no dickhead culture at the club. This is why as much as i hate the dogs they have been spot on the last few years. They recruit the man before the player. There is plenty of junior centres jjust as talented as vai vai. He is not a big talent so cut him loose. Parra oete is spot on on this occasion

Not an opinion change, pete. I personally think he should be sacked. I just said that I'll respect the decision of the club if they follow the precedent set by clubs like Canberra and give hgim a second chance. What a pity he didn't have an unconcious team mate along for the ride we could sack in his place, hey? Or someone he could threaten into withdrawing the case....

I think 80% of people have driven with a few too many once in there life.
Carney has been harshly treated and has done nothing that many young kids would do in there youth. Not like he bashed or killed someone.
Once someone gets done for assault thats a different story. But im not aware of the type of asault-pushing-yelling etc... If he hit than gee how could your team mates respect you?
I find it funny that Greg Bird didnt have a few guys take him round the back and give him a good old flogging.I know if someone beat my sister/mother it would be on the cards...
But if its the latter with Vai Vai-cut him loose. He is jsut s raw as Morgan and Loko-Chase Lafai instead :)

Joel Thompson had NO case to answer. As ruled by the DPP...NONE..
The charge against him was dropped and is not even recorded against him...
If you knew the circumstances you would agree with the DPP.....

Bazza, I was not chiding you, just praising you on your change of policy direction.
It is easy to find dickheads in ALL Clubs, just a matter of time before they come out in the open......Nothing surprises me any more. ....and I don't care what Club you choose to nominate. Too much money, too much time on their hands, and an inflated ego add up to an'incident waiting to happen'.

Yeah, his day is court is done and dusted. Everyone is having their say based on facts after he has been convicted in court - which was before any of us knew that we'd apparently signed this grub!

Hopefully Osborne will do the right thing with any contract now, so we don't have to embrace a convicted dickhead culture.

Bloody newspaper reports.....I haven't made any call. Just know what I read..How is that being hypocritical, Mario..
Big difference being convicted and being found by DPP to have no case to answer, and having all charges DISMISSED.
As I said, if you KNEW the circumstances you would 100% agree with the DPP decision...
AND Mate I don't give a continental how these over paid boofheads behave off the paddock anymore. Nothing surprises me these days, I can do nothing about it, so I have learnt not to let it concern me anymore. They can do what they like, carry on how they like...and get as pissed as many times as they like. If they don't realise the opportunity that has been presented to them by their athletic skills, they certainly won't take any notice of me..
I see Todd Carney has spent his down time collecting more tattoos. What a moron...

It is actually not exactly the same thing, since DV by it's nature occurs in the victims home (or at least their intimate relationship )as well as the perpetrators home. This is the one place we would all expect to be able feel safe-or at least seek refuge from fear of violence.

Unfortunately I agree that we do live in a world that finds violence acceptable and thats not a good thing. But there are other sectors who think the same way.One is the armed forces.Violent retaliation is often acceptable or seen as necessary. Do you think think that we should accept DV among the armed services as well? Or are they somehow different from rugby league players in this respect?
