The sunday Telegraph reports that Poore will re-sign with the Dragons this week.

maybe some Parra officials who were still confident of nabbing him (as late as last night) should just realise that they've been taken for a ride all along.

frankly it's a bit embarassing if we've still got our offer there for poore whilst he dilly dallys.Let him know in no uncertain terms that he's got a certain amount of time, then we're pulling it

it also wouldn't surprise me if Poore's management has knocked us back a while ago but have asked to be publicaly kept in the picture so they can get as much out of Saints as possible, apparently this is a common tactic used by alot of clubs as it bluffs rival clubs into using up as much as the cap as possible.

The sharks apparently did it with the Roosters when Mason knocked them back a good month before he signed with the chooks.

I said this would happen as soon as sh*t hit the fan at the sharks

maybe he just came to his senses .... realised if he has ambitions of winning a premiership then going elsewhere is wrong

It's a lot easier to take less money if you're leading the comp, being coached by Wayne Bennett and the rest of the squad are all prepared to take a little less to keep the group together. They are a TEAM nowadays. The Gasniers, Barretts and Mundines are long gone. Poore's decision was a no brainer. Staying at home, nice and close to his business "The Engine Room" was always the right choice.
As a Saints fan, it was depressing that we could never attract quality players at the right money. All our quality was home grown until Bennett came along. Now we have a coach who can attract players at the right money. Bennett is not a fan of paying overs and the beauty is he doesn't have to. I think he got Weyman on a 2 year deal@135k......how good is that!

if Saints don't win a comp under Bennett than they would go down as the most under achieved club in 30 years...

i suspect he was never serious about leaving just dangling a line in the water to see how much he could get out of the dragons
parra seem to have replaced the roosters as the 'having talks with' team whenever players are coming off contract fkn player managers pack of parasites the lot of them lol

There ARE some quality Toyota Cup players at OTHER clubs !!!

Yep Va Ve and Spring from the Gold Coast (both props) and Buhrer (backrower) from Manly. These guys arnt much better than Johnston or Baitieri, we need proven consistant peformers to complement these younger coming through.

Poore, Myles, Shackleton or OMealy are avaliable and probably required to allow guys like Mannah, Johnston and Allgood to have a platform to come through. I don't think we need to be recruiting young Props with guys like Johnston and Allgood coming through and then young backrowers like Aremui and OHanlon (who have bother represented at Australia in jnr reps) in the NYC.
