It's unfortunate for us that he is likely to go to the Sharks, how that is an attractive proposition at the moment I'm not sure. However I think all is not lost if we don't get Poore. I know that TLL is keen to stay with the raiders, but say if we secure (and im speculating here) his services as well as the Shackleton's, it's definetly a move in the right directionand it'd probably cost as $400-$450 to do so, rather than Poore who we'd be paying $300+ for.

Whatever happens in the market and in terms of our recruitment, you can be guaranteed this (sadly). The player(s) we recruit, will be better than the ones currently at the club.

Who ever is in charge of this @ our club should be sacked ... this frustrates me more than anything that we are not able to attract players to this club, this is something that i would never have thought would be a problem for us ...

woah!! steady on...if you have have a look at Poore's situation closely he wants to be close to his family and business in Wollongong, I'm sure we'd be more attractive for other reasons but if we're offering the same money and the sharks are using the leagues club to underwrite the contract than it's obvious that negotiations have gone much further than people imagine.

Edit: also other than South Sydney and the sharks has any other club made an outside signing as yet?...I think you're going off half cocked and there's still plenty of players available.

I wonder if Anderson has his eyes on anyone from england who wants to test themselves in NRL. I know we are short on cash but you never know.

Just personally, I dont know how any prop is worth 375+.
A really good halfback or hooker .. yeah Ok but a prop ? no.

Go on Justin sign with the Sharkies.

There will be plenty of good solid grunts out there. MOM would be a good buy - at about 180K

I'd definitely take MOM for 180K...that's a bargain imo.

Personally I would pay 500 for Thurston or Prince
I truly hope the club gets serious about not paying some of these salaries that are asked for by the agents.

There is no winger in the comp worth more than 150K in my opinion.
Forwards are a dime a dozen and there are some really good young blokes out there who want a chance.

200K tops for a forward.. maybe 250K at a pinch.

We have to understand that you have to direct the money to the money men ie: halfbacks/ 5/8 etc...

Players are more inclined to play with a successful team for less money. Successful teams have the right men as the conductors.

I personally think that if Scott Prince was our halfback, players like Cordoba, Weller, Smith etc would suddenly grow extra legs.

Its hard to blame the club, when geographic reasons are more then likely behind the Sharks getting the signing.

I reckon MOM cheap would be a better signing than $300 000 + for Poore.

MOM is tried and tested and is not over the hill.

Poore's contract is based on potential.
