Why - because the players have nothing to answer for?
X2, the players have been nothing short of disgraceful this season. But but but but it's all the coaches fault. As Matty Johns said at the start of the year the players are made out of Teflon.

Eels players back under-fire Kearney

Parramatta centre Ryan Morgan insists the Eels' playing group is behind embattled NRL coach Stephen Kearney and believes the struggling team can turn things around against Canberra on Sunday.
Kearney's coaching ability has come under heavy scrutiny after the Eels' 46-12 loss to Canterbury on Friday ensured their worst start to a season in 52 years.
Asked about Kearney's future on Tuesday, Morgan said: "The people above us make those decisions but we're confident in Stephen and the coaching staff around us," Morgan said.
"We can get the job done with them."
Most of the first-grade squad will attend the club's annual general meeting on Tuesday night in what is likely to be an emotionally-charged evening as the club ponders the team's slump.
"I'm not too sure what the reaction is going to be but we're going there to support the club, the fans and the corporates," said Morgan.
"We're going to get out of (the slump) so we urge the fans to stick by us."
Meanwhile, young backrower Joseph Paulo has backed teammates Jarryd Hayne and Chris Sandow to return to their best form against the Raiders, with the latter returning to the side off the bench against the Bulldogs.
"It's good to have him (Sandow) back," Paulo said.
"He had that week at Wenty (feeder club Wentworthville) and he got a lot confidence from that."

Seems as though this week is the week we turn it around (again)

Here's hoping. Maybe tonight can embarrass them into competing for 80mins.

sorry but Wayne Bennet wasn't involed in last year and they won.How many coaches have been successful with NZ team in the Past. I'll say this to all the Non Believers when Parramatta eels start winning do not jump on the Band Wagon.

That's right....Old people have to be careful jumping on anything...and even the youngens will be oldies when that starts to happen. The LIGHT at the end of the tunnel is a steam train coming to run over the top of you.
When the current administration took over, it was the case of sending boys in to do a man's job.

Yes pete, we should have left Fitzy in charge with his sensational cleaning contracts. At least the place was 'clean' eh?

No Fitzy had to go. It's a shame that the new mob have no idea how to run a NRL team.

At least the football Club was not the shambles it is now.....

Pete I am not a fan of this mob either but as far as the Leagues Club is concerned they have improved it by appearance at the very least. Whilst Fitzy was in charge the Leagues Club was in a time warp and looked as tired as his reign.

The subby should have checked his headline. Surely he meant
"Eels players back fire under coach Kearney"

I was young and naive when I wrote that. But well done for bringing it up.

Kearney has proved he's not a good coach but it is still too early to say he is a shit one. If this year has proven anything it is that Hagan and Anderson weren't so bad after all. We obviously have a group of players who undermine any coach that tries to effect change in the club, and the only solution is, to paraphrase Hasler, "to stick solid with Kearney through these dark times".

I'm glad the board didn't decide to go with bringing Taylor in. If Kearney is going to fail he needs to do it his way. Then there will be no debate.

That (unsubstantiated) argument is beginning to wear a bit thin.

VOTE STEPHEN KEARNEY: Not a good coach (but maybe not a shit one).

Hahha classic headline.

Who the f is Ryan Morgan? Of course he'll back the coach. Kearney is the only one dumb enough to keep this guy in first grade. Without Kearney, Morgs is on the scrap heap.
