Incredible thread and well done to the OP. It takes a lot of courage and guts to post what you believe, anonymously on the internet...

We have the team but we need a coach to go the next level .The 2nd half of the season and finals is the real deal .Nothing less than top 4 this year or we go heavily on chasing bellamy with the team we have to win the GF.

I hope I'm proven wrong but the current backline will not win you a grand final .congrats to Mary he's definitely improved his coaching ,his bench use is better.but he's got a large hole coming up State of origin.he needs to give some young guns a run off the bench otherwise .............

Does Mary's contract still finish at the end of this year? If it does and our strong start to the season continues it won't be too long before other clubs will be gunning for his signature. Keary and Cronk combination has so far not been a success. If it continues the rorters will see how well Hunt and Widdop have combined and Uncle Nick may try to entice Mary to the latte scene.

He can go good riddance. Then we may recruit a REAL coach.

There's too much premature 'e-jubilation' (sic) in this thread for my liking.

Let's not kid ourselves here; Saints have been in the position twice under McGregor and have faltered on both occasions.

Rubber stamping any extension is accepting mediocrity, which has plagued the Club for years.

No thanks. Win the premiership first, then, get back to me.

Let's just wait and see. For now, pats on the back for Mary. We look like the real deal under him this year, we actually do - Wednesday gave me great confidence, say what you like about the opposition. But, assuming we are not decimated by injury, he will need to ensure we remain up the top and go far into the finals to convince me of his credibility. We surely wouldn't be considering extending his contract at this point!!

objective view can't wait for our next loss.
Whilst you take no heed of previous losses or ignominious slides down the ladder in our very recent past.
You guys were all here chest beating after the early rounds the last 2 years and yet again refuse to wait and see, when you have all the time in the world to do so.
Impulsive shoppers are often disappointed when they get the goods home and unwrap the pretty packaging.
I am truly hopeful that Mc Fookknuckle this year is not just a re wrapped present from the last 3 years but the embarrassment of the last 3 years means whilst I do enjoy the wins I have to be proven wrong that history will not yet again repeat itself.
OV I am sure can relate to that philosophy and whilst not waiting for the losses as you so ridiculously suggest, he also regards 1/3rd of a season is not enough to change position as this year thus far looks almost identical to last.
After all there were many assurances from posters within here that we were the real deal last year and that after 1/3rd of the season 2017 wouldn't be a repeat of 2016 and how did that pan out for us?
Mc Fookknuckle may very well have improved the teams early season performance as he did last year but the really smart coaches unpicked it all and in light of that I am willing to wait until the end of the season to see what actually happens.

You must be deaf, he has said he had the team he wanted last year.
Didn't hear any complaints about the squad when he stood at the top of the ladder in 2016 / 2017
Even if he didn't have the team he wanted to go from 1st to 9th and to lose to all the shit teams was appalling and it was the same roster that led the comp that fell out of the race for the finals.
You guys love being April / May premiers which in the wash up counts for absolutely zip on GF day.
