Foran needs surgery and wont be available

Matai is suspended

Hoffman has commited to QLD

Prichard has a torn hamstring and is out of the finals, not sure if he will be available for 4N.

and T-Rex is too soft to be picked ahead of Perret.

Do you think Toopi has any chance to returning to the Kiwis team?

His form has been excellent

Look, I know this isn't a popular point of view and I've withheld posting for a while now, but Fien isn't a Kiwi..ok.

Can we please stop putting him in Kiwi teams whether it be the Kiwi selectors or the LU posters..Please..

I mean, he played Origin..He is a QLDer..

Even Marshall was at least born on NZ..Cayless and Pritchard..OK, they were born in Australia, but none of them tried to proclaim they were rabid Blues or Maroons..They said were Kiwis and that's whom they played for...

Unfortunately the Kiwi options in the halves have now been limited, but if the choice is now Marshall, Leulei or Ben Roberts or whoever, then live with it..There's always 2011 or you can blood someone..

Just make do with what you have..

You lost me at this particular comment. Benji Marshall is about as Kiwi as it comes. I don't know why you'd add any sort of 'at least' inference on him being a Kiwi. He's a straight up Kiwi.

I would go:

1 Lance Hohaia
2 Jason Nightingale - solid as, seems to finish things off well too
3 Shaun Kenny-Dowall
4 Jerome Ropati
5 Manu Vatuvei
6 Benji Marshall
7 Nathan Fien (play the role he did in the World Cup series, he was magic just playing basic in that series)
8 Adam Blair
9 Issac Luke
10 Russell Packer
11 Simon Mannering
12 Bronson Harrison
13 Jeremy Smith

Interchange

Aaron Heremaia
Ben Matulino
Sam Rapira
Frank Paul-Nuuasuala

18th man: Zeb Taia

Marshall played for the Australian Schoolboys team in 2003.[3] He also represented Australia in touch football that year.[4]

Schoolboys means next to nothing coastbloke. Its not a representative fixture. Its just a get-together of school talent. Benji was in New Zealand and was picked up by Keebra Boys High to finish his education there. That's how he got into the Australian schoolboys. It's like playing first XI cricket or first XIII rugby league for your school. That doesn't tie you to that school forever.

Touch football is a bit of a mickey mouse argument as well. I'm sure you'll agree. If you're seriously debating Benji Marshall's desire firstly, eligibility secondly to New Zealand then I think you are really missing the point.

I think his cards have been marked to never play for the kiwis again, i have a vague recollection of an incident on a 2003 or 2004 tour. He doesnt make those stupid mistakes he used to, but also isnt as dangerous with the ball in hand.

Anyone know if Ben Murdoch-Masila is a Kiwi?

Made his debut on the w/end for the Tigers, there's been a fair bit of hype around him for a while....hopefully he isnt the next Karl Filiga.

So Tony Williams is playing for the aussie prime ministers team. Why do we keep picking players in our squads that then reject us an opt for Australia? Its not like we're desperate for backs. Lets pick players that want to actually play for us not players who'll play for us cos theyre not a good chance of making the Kangaroos team.

Yes, there will be some decent players who won't make the cut this year, however you have a few listed in Team B who will be there such as Sika Manu, Eastwood, Fui Fui, Nightingale and Heremaia. Can't see any of those guys missing out.

Nice to have so much choice.

Jason Nightingale is a hugely underated player who I believe should feature in the team somewhere. Can Perrot partner SKD in the centres?
