1. It seems you are writing Kemp and what he does off based on a couple media quotes about letters on intent, which every player is required to sign. I dont know how you can say the guy is doing a bad job or isn't right for the job based on a few media quotes.
2. They already are doing quite a bit of what you are suggesting with the camps etc. They really need to start selecting 3-4 of the young promising players each year for the anzac test, i wouldn't even mind if they were under 20's tbh eg from this season Papalii, jt and Kasiano should have been in the anzac test squad. This will lock guys in. In fact they should be playing a test at the end of the year/mid season against some minnow and selecting a test team of the best young players.
Yeah I probably am, because as a member of the public all I have to go on in his quotes I read, when I hear him on radio, what he's achieved (or hasn't) in the job etc. I remember him being an awful coach and I don't see or hear a lot different being applied in this situation. I don't like the bloke and from what I know of him, I don't believe he's anywhere near having the nous to make a difference in a very tricky situation. It takes a man with more brains, networking skills and mana than him.
I flip-flopped backwards and forth on your second point. I initially thought nah, that would cheapen Test football if they didn't select the best XVII, no matter what their ages/situations. But then I thought well it's already falling way back in the pecking order and is becoming cheaper by the year due to these guys who can't make their minds up whether they're Kiwis or Origin wannabes. So let's put these guys in..pick them right out of Junior Kiwis if they're near on ready. But hold on, now that they know Origin is available to them - why would they commit to these mid-year minnow bashings?
And now I wish Papalii no success in any part of his career. Hopefully one or two of these Benjamin hunters fall flat on their face and future players get gun shy about committing
