lol, Inglis charged a few bucks and turned up to some group meeting for an hour or 2. Such a suitable punishment for bashing his missus

there would be two different charges

what a stupid analogy

i've never even heard of anyone being fined for 1kmh over

perhaps you shold read up on the assault that occurred. the victim required surgery

You obviously don't know of how speeding fines work in Melbourne then. If you do 1km over you can get fined, just like my fathers ex gf did.

So to try and get my head around what you were saying earlier. If I bash someone and they need some minor surgery on a broken nose. Are you saying the penalty should be the same as if I bash someone to the point where they need surgery for 6 broken bones, and 2 kidneys that have been beaten so badly that the person needs dialysis for the rest of their life. Are you saying that both charges of GBH should cop the same sentence? Because going by what you wrote earlier, you do believe that is the case.

What was wrong with my analogy from earlier? I thought it demonstrated your black and white thinking to a tee :?

"Thinking" might be a bit generous.

because as it turns out GBH is worse than what Packer was charged with

and you did your analogy having not done any research on the GBH conviction and what happened to the victim because you tried to pass it off as a minor offence similar to being over the speed limit by 1kmh

But the AFL guy has not been sentenced, yet. Maybe, the AFL has a edict not to comment until the final outcome is known (rightly or as I believe, wrongly).

Depends on State Laws (they're all different), but you are right regards NSW laws - GBH and assault Packer pleaded guilty too.

he has been found guilty though

Packer was not allowed to be registered even before he went court

Maybe, it is just the way the Mexicans do their shit (wait for the final result - ie: sentence, before taking action.)

Who knows, they are weird pricks.

So the NRL has to copy the AFL in all respects now?

I'd suspect one of the difference (apart from the aggregated nature of the Packer assault) was the fact that he plead guilty, whilst the AFL guy plead not guilty, claiming self defense.

so what?

he was found guilty

Ferguson pleaded not guilty

should he be allowed to play?

Out of interest El D, are you claiming Packer got treated harshly by the NRL for failing to register his contract whilst he was still in trial, or are you arguing the AFL were too lenient for not deregistering the WA guy?
