Knight Russell Packer jailed for two years

In that case, I can't believe Packer was only charged with Actual Bodily harm .

He got lucky due to the fact the guy he bashed did not suffer any serious injury. Still deserves every second of that jail sentence for punching and stomping a guy who is unconcsious on the ground.

The AFL player (without knowing any details of the case or the sentencing laws in WA), would in all likely hood get a lesser sentence because he didn't go on with it like Russell did. Will West Coast or the AFL sack him? I don't know and I don't care, I am very happy with how the NRL dealt with Packer and that's all that matters to me. I couldn't give a flying f**k about the AFL.

If you ask me, Packer deserved more than he got, buts that's just the weak as piss sentences being handed out in this state, so we should be thankful he got that much.

he had been threatening him on social media for months

according to the media though the NRL has to abide by a different set of standards compared to other sporting codes and the rest can do what they like and escape criticism

well it stands to reason looking at other incidents seeing this bloke somehow was not even charged

You would have to ask the LA police why he wasn't charged but it was probably because his team mate didn't report it.

Maybe the victim didn't want charges laid? Particularly as there seems to be a number of "versions of events" being reported upon. And you do realize that it occurred in the US didn't you.

I'd be worried if I were Reni Maitua, based on your "one sized fits all" theory, since he's an NRL player, that means that if found guilty the court will give him an overly heavy sentence and the media will hound the Bulldogs and the NRL until his contract is torn up. Same goes for Dylan Walker and Tyrone Phillips.

Also Robert Lui and Isaac Gordon were never deregistered by the NRL over their assault charges. They were both suspended for different amounts of time but not sacked (well Lui was but he was picked up by he Cowboys straight away). Greg Inglis didn't get any punishment when he admitted to assaulting his then girlfriend. So much for all NRL players getting harsher treatment.

then you are an idiot

both guilty of the exact same thing

GBH

That's very black and white thinking from you.

I'll give you an example to make this clearer. You have two people and they have been pulled over for speeding. One person was speeding exactly 1km over the speed limit. The other was speeding 80km over the speed limit.

Based on your logic, you could say, both are guilty of the exact same thing - Speeding. According to you, both should cop the same penalty as they both have been done for speeding. Thankfully the court system doesn't operate under your way of thinking.

this post makes no sense

you say one thing and then say another which contradicts it

it's like you're arguing with yourself

and Inglis got punished http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/gr...rlfriend-assault/story-e6frf7jo-1225852685515
Inglis, 23, was ordered to attend a behavioural amendment group and pay $3000 to Women's Health west.

there would be two different charges

what a stupid analogy

i've never even heard of anyone being fined for 1kmh over

perhaps you shold read up on the assault that occurred. the victim required surgery
