As well opposition fans are now much more unlikely to travel it used to be a pretty good excuse to see Joey and Bedsy running around now I'd imagine they'd be much more likely to watch it on TV.

I've noticed the opposition fans are still there (in the Bay i've always been in anyway). I believe its the Knights fans that have dropped off.
I can't really speak for anyone but myself, & I am still a season ticket holder.
But: cost, the loss of game day atmosphere for the promenaders, & the map out your space mentality on the hills which drives the random visitors out, would all have an impact.
