Sucks if you are travelling to the game, but Sunday arvo games at Mac Jones are pretty epic. Probably the best result for the team.

We have bigger things to worry about but it does annoy me a little bit that if the Warriors happen to upset the Panthers, we would be playing the Panthers in Week 2.

There's no need to create brackets, we should just play the lowest ranked loser from the top 4. Weird quirk of the system.

Meh, my thoughts are if we're going to win it we should be able to go through any of the 7 teams there.

Beating the Panthers in week 2 would create some huge confidence too.

Schedule wise I actually don't think this is what they will do.

They will put broncos on Friday allowing an earlier start on Saturday for Penrith/warriors to suit NZ TV meaning your game will be Sunday arvo.

Another day for the lads to rest sounds good. Raiders lost steam weeks ago. Should be an easy game. It's the sort of game I would have been worried about in years gone by but we are such a comprehensive outfit now. I'm 100% certain we will get the job done.

I believe 11 in a row is our record. I think we should easily get to 10 and probably 11. Exciting times.

We should, and we will eventually have to beat the best teams anyway, but doesn't mean the system is right. We shouldn't have to play the Panthers when someone below us like the Roosters could conceivably get to play a lesser team like the Storm.

Week 2 at least unless we fall in a hole next week.

Any further will depend on Ponga’s fitness IMO.

Hope so, but I'm not optimistic about going further than week 2 without a firing Ponga. Just think we need his class. If he plays out the year and is effective then anything could happen.

Maybe it's just me, but this morning I was looking at the final NRL table and it blew my mind.
We finished just 7 competition points behind the minor premiers. 7 competition points.

That's 3-and-a-half wins off from 1st place.

What topsy-turvy world are we all living in right now?!!

Yeah, and have the 3rd best f/a - and scored the most tries of any team this season. 4th best defence.

Honestly it just doesn't compute properly given the results and some of the games we dished up earlier in the season, and last year too. By almost any metric you care to point at we now look like a top 4 team, and I guess we would be if we didn't make some major blunders in the first half of the season. At least that's how it looks in retrospect - at the time it just seemed like same old, same old - with a bit of added ticker.

I hope to god they don't look back from here and take whatever they've found into next year and beyond.

I’m thinking we can definitely make the Prelim. Having been up for so long playing a side coming off a weeks rest might be too much but we’d have so much momentum behind us who knows?

How good is it to not limp into the finals and just be making up the numbers like we normally do?
