Was good to see the highlights, not convinced by highlights but he looked good, fast, strong and goalkicker hopefully he continues to develop

He looks like a kid that's mostly relying on the fact that he's a quick centre that's larger and stronger than most of the forwards at that level. I didn't see anything in that clip that suggests to me that he's even as talented as Best with the ball in his hand. Knowing how well our pathways work, he'll probably end up another Sione.

I dunno, at some point you just get sick of seeing clips of huge young kids monstering people much smaller than them. You're not bigger than everyone else when you hit first grade.
I wanted to say this but didn’t. The highlights don’t fill me with great huge excitement. They are also a year old and he’s apparently killing it this year, so benefit of the doubt to him. Hope it works out but nothing there to get me overly excited just yet.

Look, you could be right. Weve seen many a big outside backs not make it because they cant run over NRL or even NSWCup players like they did in the Jnrs.

Sione had class and should have stayed on the wing. That was 100% poor coaching from both Bennett and Stone to move him around so much early on. Completely stunted his game to the point of no return imo

The one thing I can say about Ferguson is if he is a very high % goal kicker then it shows he has it in him to apply himself and do the extras. There is no kicker in either Rugby code that is elite level purely on talent. It takes hours of before and after training extras to get to that level. Thats a very good sign in my eyes

Luke Huth definitely looks a goer. Doesn't have much polish but looked a tad Bedsy like with his efforts in defense.

Hoth was OK. Hoy with his usual mess ups.
Johns might get another look in firsts.
Hunt isn't inspiring.

Thought the standouts were Talty, Huth and Johns with Croker going ok, Hoy looked uninterested and G/k ordinary, Hunt had moments.
Dont understand why Baker wasn’t 1 and Hoy 6 and O’Meley 5 with Tighe on bench

Brad Tighe back? Lol.

Maybe Jack Johns gets a look in for 13 or 14? Not athletic, big or strong enough to be a top level forward in the comp. Not skilful enough to be a playmaker. Maybe he can be a better 13 than Mann?

I think if you're going to compare every kid coming through to Best at the same age 99% of those kids won't compare favourably. Best was a freak in juniors, regularly playing 2 sometines even 3 years up, literally the only flaw he had and still has is that his body is held together by duct tape, so it's harsh to compare others to him as juniors.

Sure, my point is that everyone wants to bash up on Bradman (who is still only 20), and this kid doesn't look that good. I'm not talking about injuries either (which is a fair thing to point out and be concerned about), people have been having a crack at him about everything this year.

I hope Best does get over his injuries and we start to use him more effectively. However, he will probably be let go by us and go to the Storm for minimum contract and become the next Olam.

Jersey Flegg beat Melbourne 40-10 (highlights start at 4:00). Some good individual and team efforts. They keep adding more players from this years SG Ball team and seem to be getting better and better.

Tries to;
Ethan Ferguson (fields a kick, fends off 1 player and then goes 90m untouched in 2nd gear)
Kurt Donoghoe
Jryis Glamuzina (prop signed from the Warriors, looks a good athlete for a big guy)
Max Bradbury (assist from Chris Vea’ila)
Riley Jones (picks the ball up from the scrum and goes 80m untouched)
Chris Vea’ila (assist from Oryn Keeley)
Fletcher Sharpe (great team try with involvements from Vea’ila & Glamuzina)

Up against the Roosters this week who are leading the comp and 4pts clear of the 2nd place Knights who are 4pts clear of 3rd, so a true top of the table clash.
