Knights Team v Eels

So? Do you actually know how to read? Did you see me say that we have the best halves combo or the best centre-wing combo? No.

And I don't under-rate Seage - in fact, he's been quite impressive. If you learnt how to read and understand words put together to form phrases, you could see that all I said was that Burt had more First Grade experience and was looking in great shape.

And while Carmont may have scored two tries on debut (good on him), all I said was that Grothe is in stellar form and I personally would not like to mark up against him.

Pull your head out of Joey's huge arse and learn the basic skill of reading.

?? All i said is we have some of the best combos in the comp... I didnt say anything against your combinations.. So yes i can read, what i said had nothing agaisnt what you said... So i correctly read your post, and then posted the players where i think we are better than you.

You can whine and moan all you like.

You know the Knights weren't the best. They happened to be the best in one half of football.

So you got the trophy - big friggin' deal. I am happy with the truth. And that is we were the best team in 2001 and came up one half short.

Now, let us finish with the past and discuss current issues; this one being Saturday's game.

You said, and I quote, "We have you beat in every position in the park." Ergo you disregarded my post in which I outlined our key positions.

Also another key is Dykes. Not as great as Johns (but not many are, except Jones; I think Johns and Jones [when in form] are the two best halfbacks around), but a classy and intelligent player we really need to fire for us.

It should be won in the forwards. Your go forward VS our go forward (for which we supposedly signed all these props). The better forward pack on the night will give more room for their team's halves to work and make their backs shine.

And while I think that on recent form and on paper you have the better team, remember the GF in 2001 - form previous to the match means nothing.

Good luck to Newcastle and I hope we win a great game!

PS (Why isn't it a Friday game? Last year the corresponding fixture was on Friday!)

More like Knights= NO CHANCE IN HELL.

You seem to forget but last year you had essentially the same team.

We were missing Hindmarsh and later in the match Burt; Dykes was out and Green was in awful form. Vaealiki was struggling a bit.

And what happened? Oh yes - we smashed you.

We always seem to do bad at parra stadium.. Thats why this is probably our toughest game of the season.. We always do well at penrith and we always do well in melb.. Hardly every do well at parra.. In saying that, if we learnt from our mistakes in the past 2 weeks then parra will be doing it tough to stay with us for 80 minutes.

"You seem to forget but last year you had essentially the same team"
That is not true, this was our team last year.

Robbie O’Davis (not playing)
Craig Hall (not playing)
Matthew Gidley
Kurt Gidley (wrong position)
Joshua Smith (not playing)
Sean Rudder (not Playing)
Andrew Johns (c)
Josh Perry
Danny Buderus
Adam Woolnough ( Bench)
Steve Simpson
Matthew Jobson (not playing)
Daniel Abraham
Subs: Matthew Kennedy
Todd Bates (not playing)
Luke Quigley (not playing)
Andrew Price (not playing)

There goes ur theory, that was the beginning of our horrid injury toll, oh and this was Parra's team

Luke Burt, Pat Richards, Jamie Lyon, David Vaealiki, Jason Moodie, Adam Dykes, Paul Green, Nathan Cayless (c), John Morris, Michael Vella, Lee Hopkins, Dean Widders, Daniel Wagon. Subs: Shayne Dunley, Daniel Heckenberg, Alex Chan, Andrew Meads

Notice Dykes is there. Remember wat happened in 2002 when we played you guys at Parra Stadium and you guys had your full team just about and we had our strongest team except BK, we won 28-14 and im predicting a similar scoreline on saturday nite.

We were the best side in 2001, no doubt about it....the knights were the best side on that one night in 2001 & therefore won the premiership. Those are the facts.
We can't change what's happened in the past, let's just look forward to the match on Saturday night.
lol @ philips...the Freshy v Tahu battles r always awesome.
Go Big Dave! and Go the Eels!!!

Sorry folks, but I have to agree with the Newcastle supporters on this one. We were a very good side in 2001, but fell at the final hurdle. There is only 1 game that counts and that's the final game in September.

In 5 years time, people will remember who won the premiership, not who won the minor premiership. When we win our next premiership, I'd be equally happy winning it from 8th as I would be if we'd won it as the minor premiers.

Steve Simpson is out with a stress fracture in his foot.
Andrew Price will come into the squad, and either Lowrie or Woolnough will start in the second row.

Fair enough BUT:

Robbie O’Davis (not playing)
Craig Hall (not playing)
Matthew Gidley
Kurt Gidley (wrong position)
Joshua Smith (not playing)
Sean Rudder (not Playing)
Andrew Johns (c)
Josh Perry
Danny Buderus
Adam Woolnough ( Bench)
Steve Simpson
Matthew Jobson (not playing)
Daniel Abraham
Subs: Matthew Kennedy
Todd Bates (not playing)
Luke Quigley (not playing)
Andrew Price (not playing)

There goes ur theory, that was the beginning of our horrid injury toll, oh and this was Parra's team

Luke Burt,
Pat Richards, GOOOOONE
Jamie Lyon, GOOOOONE
David Vaealiki,
Jason Moodie, GOOOONE
Adam Dykes,
Paul Green, GOOOONE
Nathan Cayless (c),
John Morris,
Michael Vella,
Lee Hopkins, GOOOONE
Dean Widders,
Daniel Wagon.
Subs:
Shayne Dunley, GOOOONE
Daniel Heckenberg, GOOONE
Alex Chan, GOOOONE
Andrew Meads GOOONE

Therefore both teams are different from last year's. Plus we have a fit Hindmarsh and a stronger forward pack which actually goes forward.

All comments aside, it should be a good, tough match.
