Knights V Roosters Match Thread

One week at a time. But I have a good feeling about this season. What I can't get my head around is how dominant we have been all year. By rights we should be undefeated. We need to stay calm and level headed. Dureau will be at long odds to regain his spot. Rogers has hit his straps for mine. Him and Mullo are tearing teams apart. DeGois should jump Farah and Ennis and be the shock call up for origin. He is the form hooker of the comp. Best defender pound for pound I have ever seen.

Loved the game tonight. First game in a long time we went on with it. Was at the game tonight and took great interest in Mullen. Really enjoyed the way he guided the team. Was constantly finger pointing and organising the troops behind the line (may have still been a bit shy with his injury). A dominant display by him without having to even touch the ball a heap of times. Only to show his class when he decided to run the ball or kick. I took note of the 'kick happy' comment earlier in the thread and thought the same thing. i suppose we look so good at the moment with ball in hand that kicking sometimes seems a second option but you run it every time and it's not a surprise option anymore.

Faas and Wicks into the starting lineup really shook them. Coops did loose the footrace to the try line that one time but with a few kilos less he will be great and on the strength of that performance demands his spot next week. Loved seeing his smiling white mouthguard each time they scored a try though lol, Seemed to be loving it. Great enthusiasm and passion by him tonight to be back in a knights jersey even though he looked slightly out of shape.

Really coming around to Rogers. Had my doubts but think he has really created a niche with his passing and running. Almost like a second 5/8 when the three playmakers Gidley, Mullen and Rogers get involved in the same play.

Heard the call (I think from the Crusade) to give it to Wicks at the end and as fate has it thats what happened and he went over in fine fashion. Got to love those calls at the game.

I think tonight was the first time that Gidley chiming in at first reciever really worked. I don't know if it was the poor opposition or the cohesiveness of the attack but it actually injected something as opposed to marginally stiffling it in other weeks.

Great overall game and performance by all playes across the park. Well done boys.

loved the game!
wow
we really put the foot down and kept going at the roosters, we really havent done that in tooo long~!
gidley was so fantastic, taia solid as ever. but i was just loving being in the crowd, yelling and screaming
was sitting in front of the newcastle nana's
what a delightful bunch of people
the crusades drumming was great!
but MAN, the rooster suck so hard!
loved the game, cant wait for us to go against the cowboys and the bulldogs
see how we go against the doggies will be good for us, because theyre pretty consistent
and the cowboys because they are so inconsistent, but can spike up in form so suddenly
but i really hope we can put more teams to thw sword and really make teams fear us
=D
KNIGHTS FTW!!

Not bad in defence, still needs some work though.

Frustrating that the only points they scored were from a broken play against the run. Would have been great to keep them to zero.

Just want to give a prop to Lulia. Had a tough assignment in defence this week and did a great job.

I rate Lulia as a defensive stopper, however for me in doesn't run hard enough in attack. His runs are usually sideways and at half pace.

Yeah what is the deal with that. In the juniors at the Dragons and even when he was playing for Port he was such a strong runner of the footy. He scored a tonne of tries by hitting gaps hard and using that big fend of his. Maybe first grade has him a bit shell shocked

Credit where Credit is due Coops (or his rello who posts here on occasion), you made me look (more of) a fool with your performance last night.

Gladly eating my humble pie. :)

Ok, ok, ok. I couldn't let this slide through to the keeper. I've read through the thread and we've got snide comments being made towards Dureau by the usual suspects that were not really called for. I actually wasn't going to come on here and talk about the whole Dureau-Rogers thing, but now I can't not do it. Scott wasn't in the team, and, when I take the blinkers off, I couldn't really blame Brian for not selecting him after his indifferent game last week. But apparently it was asking too much to just bask in a belting of the Roosters with no strings attached.

Onto the game, it was an absolute pleasure watching the boys finally put a team "semi" to the sword. By semi, I mean we probably should have won by 50, but a 32-point margin is much better than leading 22-0 at halftime and then winning the game something like 28-18. I've been the most vocal anti-Rogers poster in here in recent times, and while he still does give away far too many penalties, he's actually starting to turn me into a true believer. In saying all of that, I maintain Mullo should be playing five-eight, but perhaps, in light of recent form, Scott isn't quite consistent enough to be playing halfback.

All in all, a fantastic win, onto the Cowboys next week eh?

Tis a shame, Mullo played imo his best game for us in a long time, maybe ever? I still think he's a better 5/8th, but we can't afford to keep Rogers out of the team on a whim that dureau is gonna have a screamer sooner or later.

Praise the lord. For once he was blind, but now can see. Hallelujah!
