I was absolutely stoked with the win. A lot of people at my work were calling us "one hit wonders" and that we'd get thrashed this week. I tipped the Bulldogs last week stupidly, but I told everyone "I think we have a chance of knocking the Broncos off". Feels great to be right, and finally tip us and get it right again.
I should have never doubted us last week.
Anyway, back on the game, what a stupid thing of Kennedy to play. He lasted all of 17 minutes. All I'd been hearing during the week was he was supposedly 100% fit, he didn't look it! BK: here's the thing, the young guys have been working so hard and will continue to do so. What you need to do is rest PROPERLY and come back when you are nothing short of 100% fit.
Kidley was superb. His kicking game was the best we've seen so far. Looks like some of the training is paying off. The field goal was a shockingly wobbly one, but it went over, that's the main thing! He's just developed so much, and made that #7 jersey his own. Well done Kurt!
Buderus was fantastic. As a few people have said here, give him the Blues captaincy already. I can definately see Bedsey as a captain in the future. He may even get his chance if Kennedy & Johns both decide not to re-sign. He's just one of the most creative hookers. Blows me away..!
Craig Hall, Anthony Quinn, George Carmont, Matthew Gidley, Andrew Price, Todd Lowrie, Adam Woolnough, just to name a few, were superb last night. I honestly think Matt Gidley had the best game we've seen from him in a long time. Very impressive leading up to Origin
Craig Hall, simply awesome. Two tries, and showed a lot of pace for the 2nd. George Carmont could be a surprise contender for rookie of the year, who knows?
Anyone see Clint Newton's kick? What a classic!
Anyway, fantastic effort by the boys.
I think this will finally put the critics to bed over the "can't win without Johns" theory. Last week silenced it, this week put it to bed. I'm just still so happy!
