I've never kept count before... depends I guess on how many players float between (are dropped from) NRL and reggies teams, and how many juniors we give a taste of open age to?

it seems like the club have opted to use our middle tier team be a development platform for flegg instead trying to win a competition which is perfectly fine and personally I'm all for it but whay the heck do they persist in bringing up park footballers from Wenty and Mounties to the squad? ...it baffles me and offers next to know purpose what so ever.

With 2 games to go Jersey Flegg is the only side a chance to make finals. How is giving these kids a few games in NSW cup better then must win games and possibly some finals footy. Also good for the club and fan.

Massive fail if ask me.
Maybe to try to make the point that their "development club" plan is working as a defence of their recent recruitment strategy and there is no need to change said strategy?
I think you've got it upside down. I'd say that the players playing up in Cup are those who may not have made the Flegg team OR their rotation up to cup did not weaken the Flegg side.

Unless you can point out how the Flegg team are actually suffering from this weeks rotation ? Cos the pack and the hookers have all been rotated up to seniors so far, the halves are our best. Blackburn can't make the team.

Bloody Samuel L is now in the Flegg team... Don't tell me he should be there above Dick But AMS can't make fullback...

Well if AMS did play this week and they did Q for the semis, he wouldn't be eligible now would he ?

As for the hooker, well Lenaz and Davis are very formidable pair. Lenaz starting because he's the hard arse defender ? As for Charlie and Dick, do they really weaken the team ? Is it better for Dick's development that he gets a taste vs the shittest brave roosters Cup team ever assembled* ?

* Gee I hope we win now o_O

Yep, Blackburn started in reserve grade last week. This week he's 18th man in Flegg.

That said, there are a couple of blokes in NSW Cup this week who could be playing Flegg but have played reserve grade (nearly?) all year: AMS and JJBM, but perhaps their development is too important to drop them to Flegg. I also believe Tuivati is rated above Fualema, though a year younger. Actually, Penisini, Arthur and Tuivati all played Harold Matts last year, meaning they could play SG Ball again next year. They might not actually be in our best Flegg 17.

I am not sure what the point is not playing AMS even if he won't play finals but playing Sam L..

Play the best team in Flegg Guymer Penisini AMS.

Isn't it better for a few other kids in Flegg to also play against the shittest team...

Loizou might be eligible for the finals as well.

Guymer and Penisini aren't necessarily better than the older guys who are in the team right now, even if they have more potential. AMS (and JJBM) are obviously among the best Flegg-eligible players in the club (along with Russell and Penisini in first grade) but maybe none of them are eligible for the Flegg finals. Yes we could benefit from them in the final two games, but it is a bit of a piss take. I think the current Flegg lineup is the one that will play in the finals if we make it. Might as well treat the coming two weeks as finals prep.

The best ones have all played plenty of NSW Cup already this year:

MerkinReserve grade games in 2023
Komolafe6 (plus 6 in 2022)
Loizou6 (plus 17 in '21-'22)
Parker4
Lenaz2
Mataele19 (plus 10 in '21-22)
Brazel6
Tupou1
Davis4
Reed1 (for about as long as Paul Kent's first grade debut)
