one point in two matches for RM...

Could be as low as 17th after tonight's games. I reckon Barça fans will take a photo of that ladder. Barça top and Madrid just above the relegation zone. Won't be seeing that again for a long while.

We lost a few games last year that I really couldn't believe.
Granted, we've started better in our previous two seasons but I know the mentality behind this team.
It's too early to say anything except we need to get off our backsides.

I know SBS are about 30 minutes behind but at half time on their coverage I don't remember seeing Barcelona get absolutely torn apart for a long time. Barcelona look like they have never played together. I wonder how many teams are watching and will now deploy the long ball tactic?

I don't understand why Real have decided to sit back a little bit since the red card though.

Barca had defensive frailties throughout last year (remember the Milan group stage game?) but for some reason they did not even try to recruit a centre-half in the off-season. Puyol's too old but because he's a club legend the staff are too afraid of the supporter backlash if they dropped him. Pique's error-prone and Mascherano is not a defender.

Alves and Albi on the flanks are fine but what's the point if you get carved up through the middle?

I don't understand why Fox Sports doesn't want to pick up the La Liga rights. They could just use Skysports' coverage from the UK where they televise at least 4 live games in HD a week. No need for massive production costs just rebroadcast Skysports' coverage.

well they are struggling for room too i mean where do they play it ? with epl and cricket theres no room for much else
and then people will be angry they bought it and arent showing it

same with setanata sports half the stuff is delayed cause they have so much football and not enough available timeslots

The big La Liga games kickoff at 8pm and 10pm local. In our summer that's 6am and 8am. Fox isn't televising much live sport at that time on a weekend except for golf. It's very doable. And unlike Setanta, they've got 3 stations.

They have the red button.

I think there must be costs involved with using Sky's feed even though they are owned by the same company because Fox Sports USA do it while we use the international feed.

EDIT: Talking about the Premier League here btw, just in case I didn't make that clear, just making the comparison that even if Fox Sports owned the rights to La Liga, using the Sky feed may not be as easy as one would think.

Fox does take plenty of other Sky-covered events like the English cricket, darts, and previously the Championship and League Cup. Btw Whall when I was in the US a few years back they used the international feed, although as you say it's probably now changed.

Altenatively I just think if they went to the LFP in Spain and said there are no other bidders and as it stands Messi, Ronaldo and co. are not seen on Australian TV, they'd get the rights very cheaply. And then they could do it inhouse. Plenty of commentators around.
