At a time when the nrl will add teams in png and nz2 the English game wants to boot its French clubs
What an sht article, not surprised you posted it. Literally not one shred of any evidence in it of what he’s claiming.

That's why NRL need to buy superleague to save it from itself..
The clubs will revolt against the nrl plans

the sht clubs hold too much power

eventually those clubs will die off or give up on super league and accept being a feeder club

Again with your bs, that was years ago and it never happened.

Catalans were paying lequippe to show their games on tv (which gave sky free content back home)

now because of having to pay for away teams travel they will stop that

how does the rfl allow this to happen ?

..because game is parochial. Combining bigger clubs across UK & french heartlands would strengthen game.

Yes

Top English clubs with four French clubs is the way forward

potentially even an Italian and Spanish club as well

this is what the nrl should be looking at not investing in the current structure which has too many small English clubs

take Wigan Leeds hull fc st Helen’s Warrington Bradford plus English expansion clubs like London Newcastle maybe even a club in wales and invest and market it like crazy

..build around the base of m62 & southern France with only the strong clubs. Entice investors elsewhere who want to link with world's biggest brand in rugby: the NRL.

RUGBY LEAGUE COMMERCIAL Managing Director, Rhodri Jones, is confident that the IMG grading system will all work out as it should ahead of the 2025 season.

Provisional grades were sent to all 36 professional clubs at the end of last year, allowing clubs the time to focus on improvements ahead of the real grading scores given at the end of 2024.

For Jones, the IMG system is simple – it filters the best clubs to make it in the top division.
“I’m fully confident it will work out. None of this was done in isolation in terms of the signing off process and all clubs agreed to it,” Jones told The League Express podcast.

“There will always be bumps in the road but those bumps would only become evident when the scores circulated because it measured every club.

“The reasons we brought it in early was to give clubs the chance to do something about it and now clubs will have a real focus in certain areas to improve off-field performances.

“We need to have the best – in the broadest sense – in the top division. We can’t have clubs purely focused on the performance side of the game because it’s not sustainable.

“There would be a likelihood that you wouldn’t want a Grade A club playing in the Championship so we would look at the number of teams in Super League.”
