Leaving a game before full-time?

When is it okay to leave one of your team's matches before FT?

Why is it such a bad thing to leave. If my teams players dont look like they wanna be there then why should i be.

Exactly. If the players dont put in and earn their money, why stick around and essentially validate them? I dont understand people who cheer and go crazy (unless they are kids) when their team scores a consolation try either.

Ive left early plenty of times because sticking around to watch the team get owned is no fun. Going out is supposed to be fun.

I originally used to think this way, didn't like to leave early. Had the opinion that the players play hard for the fans...

Then i realised that they are like every single employee in the world, they don't care about anyone except #1 and that me sitting there in the pouring rain just to support my team who apparently are "doing it for the fans" is a load of crap.

Upon exiting said game i saw ET a 300+ game champion of the club 40 metres ahead of me walking out on the team.

If he can leave with 10 to go when the team is putting in a rubbish performance.

I have no problems leaving early under any circumstances.

He was just sneaking out to see Mrs Mellor though.

That was so hard to watch, best game Ive seen Joey play live, along with that Origin in Sydney(cant remember the year)

I loled at the Dragons Fans who left the Anzac Day game early this year, I always think back to this....

hence why I never leave early cause of that game

Believe it or not I know a few roosters fans who ducked out after we kicked the penalty goal thinking it was all over and didn't know we'd lost till they got in their cars

Make your own f**king mind wether you want to leave yet or not. There is no rule, just make a choice. Stay or leave.

/endthread.

If I can sit through or 71-6 flogging at the hands of the Broncos in '07 I can sit through absolutely anything

If you leave just because your side is losing by a big margin then you are soft as shit. Experiencing the lows in full make the highs so much sweeter

Yeah I wasn't looking for opinions to help shape my own view, I was just curious about how people viewed the issue.

i've walked out on the warriors once, in 2009 when they were playing the gold coast at mt smart.

it was relatively close, but the warriors were just so hopless i was feeling insulted by the level of football they were dishing up.

even then i still stayed on the hill by the gate until there were 30 seconds to go.

i got home and was amazed to find out the gold coast scored again, which amazed me since the warriors had possession when i left.

I have been tempted - I only would do it if my team put absolutely no effort in. You can cop a flogging if they are all trying.

Generally I don't, but I have walked out early a few times

Games I can recall walking out on:

- 50 point smashing by souths in 2009. Walked out with 20 to go

I walked out about the same time that day. That was the only time I walked out significantly early. I sat through the entire 160 minutes of Brookvale games in 07/08 but that day I wasn't copping it.

I'd have walked against Newcastle in 09 aswell but I has to boo the pricks off.

When you get sick every 2nd week. Let me know how that goes for you. Merkin.
P.S. f**k anybody who thinks staying the 80 minutes in a flogging makes you a better fan. The egos of some of you.
Take a panadol and lie down George.

I've literally only left early 2-3 times in my life and one of those times was when Australia thrashed PNG at Parramatta Stadium in 2010.

The other two times were Knights games during the wooden spoon year. I stood out there through rain and scorching sun, but there were two occasions where the boys just didn't put up a fight. I couldn't stand there and watch it any longer.

I've left early a few times.. Only when we're getting flogged, maybe 10 mins early at most.

I remember I walked out of Tigers vs Souths in 2009, got flogged 20-54.

It's better to go to a game and leave slightly early than not go to the game at all
