Leaving a game before full-time?

When is it okay to leave one of your team's matches before FT?

It is never ok to leave early, you support your team until the 80th minute, no matter what

I was at Shark Park in 2005 when Manly got smashed 68-6 by Cronulla and had to drive back to Taree, after the match........but i stayed until the 80th minute

I have never walked out on my Team, or booed them, and never will

as someone else said the bad times, make the good times so much sweeter

I'm a season ticket holder that drives four hours each way for every game and leaving five minutes early makes a massive difference getting through traffic.
I can see how it would seem disrespectful but I don't think I'm less committed.

I have never left early, and have witnessed floggings, but if the Tigers did a Raiders on Saturday and just not give a shit about winning, I would consider it.

Never, some games I might feel like it but I don't want to be one of those people.

If you (or a family member) are required to be removed by ambulance or you are in the process of burning alive then it MAY be acceptable. Under no other circumstances is it ok.

This.

Although there was one season where I wanted to leave early almost every week and I was a player in the team.

I went to the station. Everyone on there was a Rooster fan and we all sung the team song all the way back to central.

How did we get pwned? Even dragon fans around me were saying how blatantly wrong all the decisions were against the Roosters and they were contemplating leaving too, that's how bad it was.

Bullshit, bHP. No Dragons fan would have left early that day. Yes, we got a few favourable decisions, but like all Roosters sooks, you conveniently forget there were a few that went the other way. Plus you overlook the fact we were the better team by a considerable margin, on the day and all year, and were thoroughly deserving Premiers.

Left early once.

2010 GF at about the 78th minute, I didn't want to be in there when the hooter went :(

It's disruptive to the people watching when people push past to get out early and it's disrespectful to your team. I hate seeing people streaming out before full time.

Throughout the years I've noticed saints fans are the main offenders at leaving a game before full-time.

Yeh, that game mentioned earlier, when the Knights beat them 54-6 in 2006, they were streaming out the gate very early, including the jokers with the "SpoonCastle" banner.

If theres like 5 mins left and the game is definately out of reach I'll usually start heading out to beat the crowds at fulltime

Yep, I'm sure that happened.

Only left 5 minutes early once, and that was because I had a wedding to go to.

If my team is getting beaten and i start heading to the exit, i can't handle being humiliated by fans of the other side.

Most of the crowd were Saints fans and most stayed well after the match.

Why is it such a bad thing to leave. If my teams players dont look like they wanna be there then why should i be.

I remember one other time I left a game early. It was a Sydney Kings game, one of a few I have gone to. After a very long lunch, I turned up at some stage probably about halfway through. I watched for a few more minutes. It was painfully obvious that the Kings were going to lose. They were already down by over 30 points. So I decided to tell the players what I thought. You can do it at the footy, why not the basketball. So there I was, hurling abuse at the top of my voice. Players on the court actually stopped to look what was going on. And then I walked out.

It was either that or be escorted out a minute later...
