Leichhardt Advantage

Before I go on I want to state I was Balmain fan before we merged and would love to see more games at Leichardt.

People are throwing around the 10k figure here, but I have heard in the past that Leichardt doesn't make money until we break about 19k or 20k. The person in the know told me it had to do with the video screen. We have to hire it out to meet NRL/Fox/Nine requirements. Apparently the cost is astronomical. That bumps up how much we need to take at the gate to make money.

Why don't we buy a bloody screen for both grounds, instead of hiring one all the time. One year of financial constraint is bearable if it means more home games where the fans want them to be.

[FONT=verdana, helvetica, arial][SIZE=-1]In the first week Humphreys was interviewed, he made the following quote:

"My first job is to get us back to what we signed up for. I was at that meeting in 1999 and we signed up for a 6-6 split."

Make it happen.

Problem is, when you buy on the cheap from the local pawn shop you don't get no warranties...

Surely one screen is all we need, we can ship it from ground to ground as needed, when the petty cash builds up again we can buy another.

As for the arranty, it's going on council land isn't it, public liability and the government can cover any warranty issues, if it stops working, then maybe it could just accidentally break because a tree fell on it....repeatedly

It would make sense, but it is probably quite tax effective to keep hiring the things... with the added benefit of giving a convenient excuse to chase the money on offer at other venues.

I remember WT losing a lot at Campbelltown, but not often at Leichardt.

These are stats on the opposition we faced at both grounds, up to about the end of 07

Cambo- twice as many top 8 opponents to LO...27 - 14
Cambo- half as many non finals teams to LO...8 - 17
Cambo- three times as many top 4 opponents...16 - 5
Cambo- ten times as many grand finalist opponents...10 - 1
Cambo- 5 times as many premiers opponents...5-0

Yep i think LO was a bigger winning factor than Orana Park, maybe we had a bigger mix of Balmain players back then. I think we had about 5 maggies, Skando, Hodgson, mescia, mcguiness bro's
Ps.. INK Are they wins for cambo verses LO or the other way round ?

Im sure they have said they LOSE, and also i cant remember the last game we had sub 10K at L.O .........You would think they would have some more confidence in the supporters to always be over a 10K figure wouldnt ya .

PS ..sign up players like mighty mouse will help make sure my arse is there everytime. :)
If you have a quote from the club saying we lose money when we get crowds of 18k or so then post it or stop claiming it exists.

On your second point, you must have a poor memory. Every year we played a 6-6 split,2000 to 2004, CS and LO both got crowds of less than 10k. Thers a few 4000 crowds there too. Relying on crowds to finance the club will send us broke.

In westie's defence lol
We've won 4 and Lost 5 in our last 9 matches at leichhardt.

however, we've never really been dominant at ANZ.
2000 - 1 game - 1 loss
2001 - 1 game - 1 loss
2002 - 1 game - 1 loss
2003 - 2 games - 1 win, 1 loss
2004 - 2 games - 1 win, 1 loss
2005 - 8 games - 5 wins, 3 losses
2006 - 7 games - 4 wins, 3 losses
2007 - 6 games - 3 wins, 3 losses
2008 - 6 games - 2 wins, 4 losses
2009 - 2 games - 1 win, 1 loss

Nice to see you're actually starting to think about things. For a while there the percentage was about as good as the rest of our percentage, which is not good enough for a supposed fortress home ground.

Correct me if i'm wrong but were we not 2/7 at LO recently?

Oh, and the thing with ANZ is, i'd like to bet most of those wins were all in the same period, pulling 20+ crowds, even before AND after the GF. I remember chucking in a doozy against Penrith about 2 weeks out, but apart from that, we just never lost.

They arent wins or losses....just where the opponents finished that year.

We played lots more top teams at CS, and the bottom teams at LO

Dykehardt Council only support refugees and asylum seekers. Local sporting teams don't meet their swampy funding criteria. However, if WT leased the video screen to Dykehardt Council to promote their support for refugees they would generate enough cash to redevelop LO ten times over. Besides, the video screen is so badly positioned that 90% of the crowd can't see it anyway.

Lots of L's in the column over the last 3 years Simon! Plus I'm sure there's 2 W's on the end - post when I read it. Looks worse than Sheens' record to me.

4 wins 5 losses isn't really as bad as you're earlier claim of 2 and 7 though, is it westie?
