I'm as pissed off about our current situation as anyone. Usually this time each year I vow to stop supporting the Tigers and break a few doors...we all go through this.
We all know that this is complete bullshit. I'll be supporting Tigers as long as the club exists and I can't change that even if I wanted to.

Ideally we would want to recruit 4-5 experienced First Graders and shed some plodders...but its not going to happen. We are stuck with the roster we have (minus Richards) for 2016 and we should start being constructive. Whinging will only make matters worse.

So with this in mind, if you were in Jason Taylor's position what would you do?

With my zero coaching experience my thoughts are:

- Continue to develop Lawrence and Lovett as our starting back rowers. I think Lovett could become a quality 80 minute back rower with a bit more experience.
- Use Sironen off the bench and let him play unstructured.
- Take the training wheels off Brooks and Moses. I understand why JT has been doing what he is doing but its time to let them play their natural game
- Farah back to 80 min games. Why waste a bench spot when Farah can just play 80

Assuming no signings....

Siro at 13 learning power game up the middle. He is no edge backrower. Use his footwork in the ruck like a Taomalolo
Lawrence/Lovett yes. Liolavave will come on.
Consider 1 Moses 6 Tedesco
Nofo wing Fine centre
Galloway ESL
Ava is ready to start in front of Galloway

Not much we can do with no recruitment.... Sironen and Moses are the biggest concerns. Lodge hasnt come on but is still a kid and I expect a nuch better 2016 and will own a prop position.

If this faith placed in our juniors doesnt come off our next 6-8 years is f**ked and it will be one five year plan after the other. Too much faith placed in Brooks and Moses. In retrospect what a ridiculous decision to put the entire short term future of the club in the hands of two teenagers....

No way should tedesco be moved to accommodate someone who will not be as good as him at fullback.

The biggest asset he has that Moses will never replicate is kick returns. A good kick return helps the forwards and helps with field position.

Moses is just another Moltzen, with a better passing game and a worse running game.

I still am trying to work out how Sue. A guy whose edge conceded zero line breaks while he was on it got moved into a prop rotation and dross like Santi gets picked ahead of Lodge.

Whilst ever the coach is picking teams like he is I will continue to doubt his desire to actually win games

Kick returns and ad-lib running game is the ONLY thing Moses does have. His one game in 2014 at fullback was devastating with his opening up the defence plenty of times.

If he doesnt play fullback and remains at 6 he will become long remembered as a laughing stock who was way out of his depth and more laughable than Moltzen. He will very soon become a poor mans Daniel Mortimer or Barba trying to reinvent himself as a Mr Fixit 14.

I would buy a quality left wing to replace Richards. Play Nofo on the wing and Naiqama in the centres. That gives us some quality outside backs. If possible sign another winger/centre who has some quality.

Play a pack that gets us going forward:-

Props: Woods, Sue, Ava, Lodge
Lock: Taupau and Siro - let them both play up the middle and hope that SIro comes on.
Backrowers: Lawrence and Lovett

Whilst we have Galloway it gives us another option at prop and you could swap him with Sue. I don't know what to think of Lawrence and Lovett as our backrowers. They might be good or they might be ordinary but I'd see how we go there.

Then we have to pray that Brooks and Moses come good. If they do we have a quality side. If not we are in trouble.

We also need a coach who has some idea. At the moment Taylor is terrible.

People writing off Moses have no idea. The kid is a broken field magician. The problem is JT is an idiot that doesn't play to the strengths of what he has. Moses clearly offers nothing in a structured team. Planning and strategy has been a massive fail this year. If they wanted to play a structured style they shouldn't have banked on Moses and Brooks.

Every single time Moses is put in front of a staggered line he makes a break or half break. He's incredibly dangerous in second phase. JT is just a dumb f**k.

He was not a better fullback than Tedesco.

Sheens has gone. Lets not reshuffle the deck chsirs to accommodate one poor performer.

Tedesco is well on the way to becoming a truly elite FB, would be madness to move him.

Other than promote 2nd phase play, not sure what we can do to improve - other than just do everything better.
For all the talk of defence, our defence is still crap. We get dominated in the ruck (both with and without the ball), struggle to communicate and make good decisions on the edges, give up too much yardage, struggle with linespeed... the list goes on.

Asipelli Fine played centre in Roosters 16's, Newtown 18's, Roosters 18's won comp, Tigers 20's won comp, the guy is a great defender, very calm in defense and makes good reads, is deceptively quick and has played along side super high quality juniors going thru, cordner, low, evans etc, he should be playing FG in centres or SR now. I've watched him this year and he just needs a chance.

Good luck trying to develop Lovett. The guy plays with heart but he's just not up to it. Doesn't dominate a tackle in attack or defence. Even hunt walked him upfield for another 10 metres today before he could put him on the ground. The fact Lovett was there today on that side with Milone is crazy. You can't blame Moses when he has no one helping him out. Desperately need quality backrowers at the club. Lawrence has potential but Lovett would not make first grade in any other side in the comp

That is what concerns me with Taylor. Playing average footballers in front of game breakers who may have an error or two in their game. Why not try to harness a guy like Akouala and hone him rather than put in effort guys like Santi and Lovett?

If he's not going to give Akouala or anyone else a run, he should at least move Sue to that edge, and bring Lodge back into the prop rotation.
Having Moses, Lovett and Milone together in the defensive line is straight out lunacy.

Totally agree.
At least with Santi tho , he doesnt get rag dolled like Lovett.

Maybe because he runs and surrenders. Bloke is a bog average player who would be pushing to make a bench slot at an ESL club. So much plod

Anyone that thinks Santi is superior to Lovett has no idea about the game in my opinion.

over on the fox sports web site, there's an interesting article re the Tigers and why they should clear the deck.

It also includes a poll, interesting numbers there but i can't take those online polls too seriously.

I also heard Peter Tunks on Talking Sport yesterday say that he doubts that the Tigers have a salary cap issue. he believes that they (whoever they are? But I would say Go and Taylor) are simply using it as an excuse to cover for their own under-performing efforts.
