There once was a genius called Miller
Was a warrior with a head like a gorilla
He could slip a pass to Russell
Who really could hustle
And the Sharks would get home in a thriller

There once was a huge coaches pet
A position he will no doubt regret
It is such a shame
He is great at the game
Something he just does not get

There once was a poster dubbed Shire Shark
Who's bite is worse than his bark
As Cliffy found out
Without a doubt
Ciffly now wants to sue everyone at Shark park

They came to the shire as Brothers Sorenson
Put steel in the pack by the tonne
Did the kiwi fans proud
Sharks fans cheered out loud
Dane was great, and Kurt was a gun

I think I could do this all day.

There was a young man called Sullivan
Who had quite a dedicated fan
Sully could do no wrong
Sully's fan dreams of him in a thong
Cause to him Sully is all man.

Tongue in cheek ;-)

Young Dimi of dubious persuasion
Comes here to bag us on every occasion
Then has the nerve to insist
That his club still exists
When we all know it suffered extinction

you were obviously educated in the shire

what does extinction rhyme with in that?

There once was a guy named Dimitri
Who dressed as a girl indiscreetly
To escape Kogarah's drug dealers
Saints merged with the Steelers
They'll soon move to the 'Gong completely

It doesn't have to.

The definition of a limerick is:

Limerick:
a fixed verse form appearing first in The History of Sixteen Wonderful Old Women (1820), popularized by Edward Lear, and rhyming aabba, where a-lines have five feet and the b-lines three feet, and where the first and last lines end with the same word (a practice dropped in the 20th century). A limerick has been defined as "A comic poem consisting of one couplet of accentual Poulter's Measure with fixed (internal) rhyme: 3aa2bb3a" (Malof, 204). Lear fused the third and fourth lines into a single line with internal rhyme. See anonymous examples or ones authored by such as Gelett Burgess and A. H. Reginald Buller.

And that is a beauty Dean!

You would think that someone who uses grammar like
they are incest

would refrain from criticising others.

But then he is a man?? called Dim.

I'm having that same problem with my latest effort - can't get the last line to rhyme.

Young Dimi, it once came to pass,
While sat in a Caringbah High class,
Would think of young men,
And dream of when,
He'd take it right up the Khyber.

Can anyone help? ;-)

He could suck off Old Grandpa Ben.

Yes, I think Caringbah High should be Caringbah North Primary. I'm sure he would have been an early starter.

The shire was coached once by John Lang
From the bottom to the top he took our gang
There was no blue
But to Penrith he flew
On grand final day, it's Penrith's year they sang
