On a side note(lol!!!) anybody remember the Trafford Borough RL team from the late 80’s to early 90’s??

Can always remember as a kid watching an old episode of BootsNAll which featured former Russian/Ukrainian Man Utd winger Andrey Kanchelskis visiting a few Russian Trafford borough players.

It’s 4km from city centre. Like saying boulevard wasn’t in Hull! My dads from Eccles, I’ve never heard him say he’s not from Manchester.
But the Boulevard was in Hull. What a stupid comment. Have you ever heard of city, town or village boundaries?

We’re discussing if a suburb 4km from the cbd is in that city lol. Imagine people from Balmain saying they weren’t from Sydney and you get the picture.
I can’t comprehend how thick you actually are if you keep coming out with these stupid examples.

To non-English people the town parochialism does seem pretty odd.

If Manchester was in Australia, people within the Greater Manchester metro area would just say theyre from Manchester. A city stretches until its urban sprawl ends, the concept of 2 separate cities neighbouring each other doesn't exist. Technically there are multiple cities within the Sydney region, but most from (City of) Parramatta still has Sydney as their primary local identity.

If Sydney was in the UK, it would likely have 7 or 8 distinct cities each with a unique sense of identity.

The Boulevard was the former stadium of Hull FC. The Boulevard was also an avenue in Hull where the ground was near. It’s not like it is an area of the city within the city limits. PR is just being obtuse for the sake of it. Check out how far apart Leeds and Bradford are.
