The NRL would be much better off if the roosters were kicked out.

Surprisingly you would be wrong. Im not sure if you remember from the press about the networking Politis does during the Roosters games up in his corporate box/ enclosure. He pretty much invites the big business and wealthy people where they network etc. I cant remember what the press called it but bascially, it pulled a lot of big business to the game. Im sure the NRL wouldnt want to lose all those big dollars just casue a fan has a whinge against the club.

"SYDNEY Roosters are poised to ask the NRL for controversial salary cap concessions to compensate for the high price of eastern suburbs living."

Makes about as much sense as lowering the cap in Birsibane, because Queensland has a lower cost of living.

Perhaps they should lower thier late expenses, and drink instant coffe like everyone else.

I saw it on channel 7.

I can understand their viewpoint though.

No challenge or request of cap extensions when they were benefitting from other teams being impacted. Now that there is pressure on them.........

After all, compare the representative playing rosters of the Roosters and the Rabbitohs. It's clear that the Roosters are having difficulty attracting talent.

The pressure they are under is most noteable in their lower grades since the secondary cap rule was changed to unlimited as proposed by someone on the NRL partnership committee.

Get used to it imbeciles!!!

Teh Cap is in need of a major overhaul, and The Roosters arent the only ones that will back such an overhaul.

Looks like we might just become a great competition, 12 teams, top 5, no shite mediocre clubs struggling for 8th place glory.

They should just get rid of the salary cap once and for all. I'm sick and tired of the NRL protecting the badly managed clubs.

Atleast if they got rid of the sallery cap! you can achieve what you've been aiming to achieve for years, and thats play with yourselves!!

Why do the roosters always have that lame argument that the NRL should abolish the cap all together and just let the strong clubs survive? That would bloody kill the NRL as the only teams that would survive would be the panthers, dogs, roosters and broncos. You have to wonder how big the brains are of roosters fans #-o

Just out of curiosity, the the NZ Warriors, are they on $3.25NZ or AUS? I would think they'd have to be in AUS to attract players over?

Sounds like the Roosters are proposing some sort of elite competition, you could call it "Super League". :)

Do yo think Canterbury would have lost a clubman like Price if it wasnt for the Cap level, and teh NZ exchange? Club men like Ricko and Price, should NOT HAVE A CAP ON THEIR HEADS. The cap needs to stay, but it certainly needs a decent raise. As for an Elite comp....it was 12 teams top 5 about 30 years before Super League, but you DJ1 werent even born then. And it worked well too. League was better then than it is now....no 60 point floggings.

Ahh Melon, I bet you weren't this conceited in your views when the Roosters were shithouse and I bet you wont be sprouting the same crap when the Roosters competetive edge starts to wane and other clubs overtake you.

Enjoy it while it last because nothing lasts forever and there is a line around the corner of people waiting to give it to the Roosters once they fail. Be prepared for an almighty barrage because people have very long memories around here.

BTW, in the 1990's, Canberra beat the Roosters 66-4 and that was considered by all to be the League's golden era. Habitual floggings have been around for years and the Roosters have been on the receiving end like every other team.

Bullshit melon.

League wasn't better 30 years ago and there were plenty of massacres. We averaged 8k crowds and now we're averaging nearly 15k.

It was fun to remember it but it isn't a pinch on what it is today.

Souths and Cronulla are the laughing stocks.

Nothing beats this. I'm sure Gallop and co. are sniggering at the Roosters right at this minute.

would it hurt for the players to live about 15 minutes out west... i dont think so...

and there are some people out there surviving in the eastern suburbs on 60 000 a year now if i am correct i am sure players earning over 100 000 can more than afford to live out there...if not as i said a 15 minute drive from a little out west wont hurt
