Wouldn't mind Tiote at all. But I really don't understand the sudden panic, or 'need' for a DM? If the presumed three midfielders do their jobs effectively, there really isn't a need to have a 6'3 guy sitting in front of the back four ready to snap a counter-attack in two? Too often last season the middle of our half was somewhat of a yellow brick road for the opposition, particularly on the counter. Some of the fault of this must lie on the shoulders of Song, who often would roam forward in an advanced position, dally on possession or give it away resulting in a vulnerable back four screaming for reinforcements.
A rotating midfield consisting of any of : Cazorla, Sahin, Wilshere, Arteta, Rosicky, Diaby, Ox, Ramsey, Frimpong, Coquelin could, and should easily do the job.
But, adding another midfielder to the mix, 'just in case' we have another repeat of Wilshere 2011/2012 would be a nice luxury. If so, I'd expect Frimpong to go out on loan again once fit.
