...watch our season just spiral out of control now. We'll lose to Sunderland this weekend, and then Tottenham will put us away. We'll beat Milan maybe 1 or 2 - 0 but we're definitely out of the Champions League now.

Another off season fuelled with RVP contract speculation... we'll re sign Walcott the dud but RVP will go (and who blames him?). It really is embarrassing seeing how this club has fallen from grace.

...I need to stop coming on here immediately after watching a horrible loss.

Rant over.

Be interested to hear from Arsenal fans if they think Wenger's time is up? Great coach over a long period of time but I think he's done all he can at Arsenal. Time for a change?

Lol so many of you guys were talking like you would easily dispose of FCB when you let Milan do that.

Choke on that bunnies man you turd. Arsenal fans should have you banned.

I always thought we'd struggle against Milan - injuries or not, they're still the best team in Serie A at the moment. Where'as Arsenal have only just scraped into the top four.

The pitch was disgraceful. But it hardly was the culprit for all four goals. We were horrendously bad. After 2-0 down I went back to bed. The team was playing that badly that not even two or three red cards for Milan could save us.

But, in all honesty I do feel that Arsenal were merely making up the numbers in this years competition. I'd much prefer Arsene focus on the FA Cup and remaining in the top four.

:( Wenger is still an excellent manager. I think if we bought some world class talent he would still be the perfect man for the job. Unfortunately though, we don't. Whether thats the fault of the Board or Manager (or both) is the real issue. If it is Wenger who refuses to do so then I say yes, give him the punt. But I have a feeling its the Board, which means whatever manager comes in will have the same problems. Who knows...

I didn't have confidence going into this match either. Milan have too many world class game breakers where we only have 1 (RVP) that you can genuinely say is in the same field.

I also think Wenger should've started Ox on the left and Rosicky in the middle, keeping Ramsey on the bench. I can see why he didn't do that though. It's a tough one because really the whole team collectively played shit.

I just want to see us winning titles again FFS.

I didn't think there was a huge difference in general play but geez your back 4 didn't man up.

I thought 4 zip flattered Milan a bit.

Canning Wenger after he's just lost two of his best players would be very harsh.

Sacking him would blow up Arsenal and their current organisation. He is of course, much more than just a manager...

Agreed.

Robinho's first shouldn't have happened, whilst his second was a superb finish, if Vermaelen stays in his feet there's no room for the shot.

Not to mention the soft penalty and the fact RvP somehow managed to not score at least two.

I think 4-0 was about right.

We only looked like scoring once, the RvP volley, whereas every time they ran at our defence they created half chances. We were simply outclassed.

Walcott, Sagna, Vermaelen, Ramsey and Rosicky were diabolical while Song, Arteta and Szczesny weren't much better.

Not only was that embarrassing enough our best defender went off injured. Can't see the team getting up to play on that paddock at the Stadium of Light on the weekend.

The board doesn't help by giving him f**k all funds to work with but the board isn't making him start Feo every game or play our only fit left back in a meaningless CL game in Greece where he ends up injuring himself.

He's never been a great tactician but it just seems he's losing the plot these days.

In saying that i can't see anyone coming in and just turning the club around. Unless it's Usmanov obviously.

So the question is: which is worse, to bomb out of the group stage as we did, or to get humiliated by an understrength Milan team as you lot just did?

I'm not totally understanding the "understrength" tag that has been thrown around tbh.

They still had : Robinho, Ibra, Thiago Silva, Mexes, Seedorf, Van Bommel, Nocerino and Boateng starting, with Pato, Ambronisi and Emanuelson on the bench.

Not exactly a terrible side.

Hmmm. Humiliated by AC Milan, 5 time european championship winners and reigning Serie A winners or humiliated by Basel?

Yep you're right. It's a tough one.

What we did was worse. We got knocked out by some rubbish and took the whole thing for granted.

Still it was only a blip and i'm confident we will be back next year.

As for Arsenal...

Your whole defence has to go.

The first goal Kos runs away from the ball giving KP a free shot. Your right back needs to come in and cover insted of watching. Good finish, but needs to be pressured a little bit.
The second goal. Yes it as offside, but you don't stand there watching him run away, you sprint back with as much urgency as you can muster. If Robinho scores with a header, something has gone wrong.
The third goal, yes your defender slipped but thats because he had already gone to far, Song i think it was needed to be aware which way the defender was tracking and covered the run. Didn't happen.
Fourt goal. Ibra bought the pen a bit, but Djourou was to square and was inviting that move. He also needed some cover.

Basically they were all really bad. The mid didn't cover them to well and offered little in attack, so not sure what they were doing really.

RVP looked isolated up front until Henry came on, and you improved after half time, till your defence went walkabout then game over. Its vital now you finish 4th or his contract may go unsigned.

If a performance like that and the worldwide criticism that followed isn't enough to motivate a team, then nothing is.

I want, nay expect a total demolition of Sunderland.

Maybe for a team run by Fergie. But not Arsenal.

Every year we go through something that just ruins the team morale.

The Eduardo leg break a 3 or 4 of years ago. The Camp Nou raping when Messi scored 4. The Carling Cup final last year.

As much as Wenger likes to say how mentally strong we are everyone knows he's talking bullshit. As soon as the pressure is on we fold.

I hate being so negative but it's true. And it's been true since Wenger decided to rip the invincibles apart and embark on that ridiculous youth project.

Yep. Pretty much sums it all up.

Individually our defenders are pretty good. But they can't defend as a unit. And to make things worse last night was the first time this season (i think) that we played with that back 4.

I'm hoping they just erase the game from their mind. AC played really well and we were a shambles. There really isn't that much, if anything, positive that could have been taken from it.
