Kikau was quiet, but effective,
Api was busy, JFH and Tamou were outstanding, Nathan and Jerome played to there strengths and Nadens return was perfection on the wing, hope to see more of that, although Mansour will come back and ruin that, but as long as he cuts out that push pass in our 20m, i can stomach naden elsewhere. Now hopefully we can see if persisting with Burton, Burns on the bench will pay off if we win against a fast tigers team, otherwise need to see possibly some fresh reserves come in to replace them, im for Naden, Leniu with Yeo pushing to the edge when kiks gets a rest

I think if our third bench player, currently Billy Burns is only going to get limited minutes then I think Spencer Lenui could and probably would have more impact with the same amount of minutes.

My fault Tronald, I gave Burns the N/A and he played 31 minutes. I mean't Burton N/A of course as I'm sure you did.

I did too.
A quick copy and paste of the names. I cleared the scores but left the NA in place of the wrong person

I’ll have to watch a reply before giving ratings. The game was a blur, very intense and a lot of emotion involved given our no try decisions are other questionable calls both ways.

Aside from everything else I thought Moses Leota was very good in his limited stint. I thought his go forward was very good for us and no mistakes in the crucial part of the second half where we got back on top.

A tough, gritty performance but don't be fooled by the result. We toiled in the red zone again, and were beaten on most keys stats. Less metres per set, slower play the balls and a lower effective tackle percentage. Our resilience is most commendable because in spite of that, we were still able to win.

That said, with 10 penalties to 5, the Tiger's discipline cost them dearly. We had 9 more sets than them and 10% more possession over the course of 80 minutes. If they improved their discipline (BJ WTF?), they could have beaten us. A couple of points:
  • Our back row went on holiday. Kikau and Martin were doing something out there, but running wasn't high on their agenda. 34m and 64m metres respectively. Luckily Yeo, Tamou and JFH are monsters dishing out post 150m each and Leota also delivered 114m of pure quality. Kikau and Martin need a rest if possible, or at least a "please try harder" note from the coach.
  • Burns is really struggling. He's getting very little game time and delivered 21 metres and 5 tackles in his 17 minutes of fame. Not sure what the answer is, but tell him to give it his "all" for 15 minutes every match. Give us 5 runs and at least 10 tackles, we need his effort to lift significantly.
  • A great effort from Luai, he has lifted his work rate the last two matches and was our most creative player. Well done Jerome!

If Billy Burns is only going to get 10 -15 minutes then surely Spencer Lenui could offer more.
Probably, but I think the answer is to rotate the bench so all the players get a run in the "15 minutes of fame" slot. I acknowledge that Burns is capable of playing backs or forwards but with May now in the team, we don't need another versatile player on the bench. If we don't start doing this soon, the players are going to be very unfit at the backend of the season and when we get injuries we will struggle.

Id say mitch kenny will get rotated in after burns, so that in our less tougher games we can rest Api for 20mins and not risk him at the tail end of the season
