I’m sorry I just don’t get what we expect from Josh. I jest checked the metres on NRL and he delivered more than any other player on the field.

I don’t get it. I really don’t. He has his limitations but seriously his work bringing the ball back is better than any other winger in the NRL and we need his metres. They are invaluable.

Not really the thread for this discussion. I love Sauce and he stays in first grade due to his workrate. His errors however are very costly. The penalty he gave away and offload in our 20 were just dumb moves. I'd expect a player with his experience to cut that out of his game.

He is still in my first grade side next week.

Have to take errors into consideration with scores as well as the good metres. It's not a fair representation of a game to ignore negatives when scoring like this.

The first penalty was more self protection which is understandable considering what he has been through.

If he wasn't going to contest it he should've backed out but he overcommitted knowing he couldn't compete for the ball.

Great game & solid team effort. I watched again this morning & it was just as good. A few points

I am struggling to understand the Mansour hate. The penalty awarded against him was pretty harsh imo. The offload was unfortunate, but have a look at his offloads in general, he is good for one or two very handy ones a game. There was a nice one coming out of trouble early in the game last night that got us on the front foot for an extended period. A lot of the talk is we dont need him anymore as our middle is going gangbusters. I wonder why? Sauce & To'o making metres is helping them conserve energy & keep the middle tight. Ask Fish, Yeo or Tamou if they think Sauce is detrimental to the team. I'll bet my balls they f**king love him. The saddest part about it is the bloke has bled for our club, copped less coin to stay put when he was one of our best every week in days gone by. It would be nice if he found the try line a bit more often, but I think what he does offer is undervalued. He will no doubt lose his spot to a younger player soon enough, possibly Naden or one of the other promising kids, but until the coaching staff decide that day has come I'll back him to the hilt. He has earned it.

Whare too is copping it a bit more than warranted. he is still a smart footy player. He isnt scoring the tries, but he is playing his part. His run & offload to Api to scoot away set up Cleary to put the kick in for Kikau to get us home. To score him an assist for that is obviously too long a bow to draw, but I only really noticed his importance in that play when I watched the replay, so thought it worth a mention. I think he is most likely to be the first to get the dreaded tap on the shoulder, but until then I dont think he is going to cost us any wins.

Edwards short ball to Martin as he got smashed was lovely. Its a shame Martin didnt keep it going out wide. Whare would have gone over untouched. More of that please Dyl.

Whare i agree on, as he is usually drawing in defenders then opening up space for To'o, but Mansour nah, stupid plays, thank god he is on the wing, if he wasn't we'd lose consistently, he is always pushing the pass that doesn't need to be thrown, and doing it on our 20 meter line, dumb shit

Interesting that Fish is beating the highest (not surprising) Ennis said the other day he's on the path to being offered a Roosters contract by virtue of becoming the best forward in the game.

He's up there, but not sure he's ahead of JWH yet. But if there's a bloke we need to keep, it's him.

A couple of points:
  • It was a pleasure to watch this game because of the effort and grit the team showed and it was for the full 80 minutes. There's no point in working your guts out like we did with the Eels and throwing it all away with a 10 minute lapse;
  • Cleary was much better for the run against the Eels and let Luai have more of the ball. He rarely has me out of my seat whooping with joy at his creative excellence, but his tactical kicking has improved 100% this year and must be coming close to being the best in the NRL at it. He kept the Storm pinned down with astute kicking and made plenty of tackles. Paired with a creative half/fullback/hooker maybe he can be worth his salary;
  • The current crop of forwards really are a good bunch. Now Pie Face has been closed, Yeo and JFH's excellent motors are purring along, allowing Leota and Tetavano to be used in destructive bursts to good effect. Once Capewell is back on board, our pack is as good as anybodies. Hethrington coming into the mix will also turn our intimidation factor up a few notches.

Only three points this week, disappointing Martie I enjoy at least six or seven from you, you must be getting complacent with our victories.

Edwards 7 - One error but another very good game. Always looks a threat to beat the first defender.
Naden 7 - Good game. Proved the point of those who've been calling for him to be play here.
Crichton 7 - Much better game, though didn't face a stern defensive test.
Whare 6 - Went ok, but still not a ton of impact. That pass for the To'o half break in the second half was unreal good.
To'o 7 - Lots of energy as usual.
Luai 8 - Again a couple of big plays and mostly solid defense. Perfect foil for Cleary.
Cleary 9 - Loses a point for goalkicking, but his general play was perfect. Lots of variety. A few great short balls. Cut out ball for a line break. Perfect defensively. Kicked well in all areas of the field. A well deserved try off a trademark dummy and run that wasn't picked because of the variety he played with for 75 mins up to that point. The faith the club has shown this kid is being rewarded.
Tamou 6 - Still looks a bit low energy to me.
Koroisau 7 - Good game. A step down from the highs of the past month though.
Fisher-Harris 8 - Monster.
Martin 7 - Another hard running and hitting performance.
Yeo 7 - Another very strong game. Thriving in the middle.

Tetevano 5 - Did nothing wrong but not a ton of involvement.
Leota 5 - Didn't see a lot of action as usual. Unfortunate.
Burns 6 - Much better performance. Runs great lines. Will score a ton of tries imo.
