Hey Guys . Just want to introduce myself. I'm Robster. Huge Rugby League fan from New Zealand. I'm a big Warriors fan.

In the pre season I have been organizing with a fellow member at NZWARRIORS.Com a poll for each position .

So far our team is

Wade Mckinnon, Francis Meli, Clinton Toopi, Konrad Hurrell , Manu Vatuvei, James Maloney, Stacey Jones, Ruben Wiki, P.J Marsh, Steven Price, Ali Lauatiti , Simon Mannering, Kevin Campion - and with 3 days to go our bench is looking to be : Lance Hohaia , Shaun Johnson, Jerry SeuSeu, Joe Vagana.

So I extended my project and went to cowboys stampede and Have almost finished the backline .

Bowen , Ty Willams, Bowman, Tate, Sing, Thurston, Prince(To be decided)

So now I'm extending my project to find out every club main forum best 17 for their favorite club.

Basically I'm thinking each player who makes the 17 will be awarded some sort of medal/certificate for the achievement.. I might need funding, but will let you know on a later date.

If a player makes the team twice in different position then we will do a vote on the preferred position and do a further poll on the replacement.

A player to qualify must have at least played 20 games.

Each position poll will be from Friday to the following Friday.

To qualify to vote please be honest , if you haven't been a fan since the 90's then it's prob not best to vote. We want the older players to have a chance. We want you to have at least a tiny amount of knowledge of all the nominated player.

Btw is this the number 1 message board for Penrith fans?

Okay guys - I would love nominations for Fullback.

Some of the older posters will have more of an idea then me. Rhys Wesser would have to be one nomination

Fullback is the position I can remember us struggling with over the years

Greg Barwick was fullback when we one our first GF. IMO Rhys was a much better player. Rhys could win you a game on his own. Barwick was more steady and was less error prone, but his best was nothing like as good as Rhys's. Brandy was also a great fullback. In fact, if you wanted to shoehorn Gower into the team (he would never get halfback before Brandy if I was choosing), then Brandy could play fullback and Gower halfback.

I can't think off any other player who has played fullback with any distinction since the 1980's when I started following the Panthers. Maybe there was a player before that.

I still need to have a cup of tea and go and lie down in a dark room every time I think of Neil Baker at fullback and visualise the opposition halfback punting the ball in the air. Excuse me, I need to go and lie down.....

Moylan can certainly be in our top 5 all time despite being more suited to the halves and having a potentially better fullback in DWZ waiting to replace him.

Our depth at the moment means we could lose an absolute gun, it would really suck, but we could replace them reasonably easy. Very rare our team has been able to do that.

Definitely Rhys. Mark Levy was OK. Brandy if you clutch at straws.

We have had some horror ones in the past though. As Pomoz said, does make you a tad ill thinking about some of those.

Gower will likely fit on the bench as utility so no need to shoe horn him in. Wesser for mine.

but didn't Barwick only play a few seasons? Most of our fullbacks seem to play a few seasons and move on or fall from grace

Gower would be bench hooker surely?

It's got to be Rhyss. The skinny kid in headgear who filled in for Jorgo made an instant statement in first grade. A genuine superstar at the time. I don't know what happened to Jorgenson after that, I never asked.

Has to be Wesser. Brandy will need to be in the team, but he was pretty average at fullback for the most part, due mainly to the turmoil that was going on at the time. Jorgo had his moments, but for longevity is nowhere near Wesser. Kevin Dann was a good player in a pretty average team. same applies to Levy.

I will have a go at top 17. It's hard players like Pritchard & Jennings were good but never led us to finals etc. Jennings was only a centre but on the wing?

I am 32 so only go back to early 90's. Older posters anyone from back then that would make it.

Wesser.
??
Izzard.
Girdler.
??
Fittler.
Brandy.
Cartwright.
Roycie,
MG.
Puletua.
Lewis.
Van der voort:

Gower.
Waterhouse.

Yeah it's gotta be Wesser. Gordon would've eclipsed him but he didn't play enough games in the Number 1 IMO.
