What are Kingston, Grant and Burns FFS, they are part of the leadership GROUP as well

We have the weakest spine so no guarantee Burns or Kingston will be here in 2014 or 2013 for that matter.

Grant is playing prop despite needing to continue to improve as most forwards do until the mid 20's. Despite that he plays 40mins most games.

Here's a real problem. Burns gets released (a rumour), Kingston's off Segeyaro on. Grant off Weston on. Who's the leader??

Cleary had 2 years running of u20 talent to choice plus great signings. Who did elliott get as a signing. With the talent available at the warriors there should have been more grand final appearances

Elliott had plenty of time to get the signings he wanted and one of the best talent nurseries in Rugby League. He did absolutely nothing with it all. Who were Cleary's big name signings? Maloney was no one before he went to NZ. Mateo is probably the biggest name in the last few years. Most of what he achieved came from turning talent into first grade quality and journeymen into solid contributors.

Not clear yet? When did Matt Elliott coach a team to a GF?

When did Cleary get a team to the top 4?

If Elliott doesn't lose Wallace (only left to play 7) & Gower 1st year in. He would of had more success. Add to the the wonderful Leary letting Graham, Pritchard & others go.

Compare the juniors We won u19's 06. All 3 lower grades 2007 nothing since. Cleary had top 4 NYC every year. 2 premiership teams.

Good coaches overcome setbacks Elliott couldn't. Cleary is the same so far. The constant picking of a nuffie backrow is the same as picking Purtell every week.

So cleary is better is it because of
Attack
Defence
Position on table
Just curious

Just my opinion based on his performance as a coach so far, more for his achievements at the Warriors because his time here can't be fully judged yet. Elliott's time at the club is conclusive however, he had 4.5 years to get it right and he failed dismally.

Link doesn't work btw.

He got Petero though, which IIRC was a better catch than any of the people mentioned in that article. He himself said he had the "cattle" remember.

I know everyone's hurting now, but seriously lets not rose tint Elliott into some sort of martyr here. He was a garbage coach, proved it consistently, played shitty football with a talented team, gave us next to no results over the 5 years and left the place in a mess.

Given we lost Gower, Wallace, Priddis. Craig Wing or Hornby would of been better then Petero. Add Clinton, Puletua & Rooney. Where did the money go??

So he was behind the 8 ball to start off. He didn't cut the juniors funding the board did.Agreed he didn't use what he did have properly. I am glad he's gone.

Comparing the 2. It's eerie how similar it is. Both had decent records at prior clubs. Elliott success in ESL. Cleary in the lower grades. Both came here when the juniors are flying. Both struggled big time 1st year in. Both punted fan favourities. Both blamed a poor culture.

How IC goes from here shows how he can coach.

No idea, but presumably Elliott had a hand in all of that. He would have had input to signings made by the club, choosing Petero over Wing/Hornby was his call. He had plenty of time to get the team he needed.

How IC goes from here shows how he can coach.

Agreed. We're not there yet though.

Snce 05 we have been pretty much awful other than one year.

The club needs a total change of direction , cleary and gould have still only been here five mins compared to our past seven years of ineptitude.

Honestly I've come to the conclusion that the club needs a total change of direction.Gould has made more better decsions than bad so far and he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I wish Lewis and Gordon could have stayed to be a part of it but I still think we are much better off than we were at the start of last season.

Yet as soon as Elliott goes we make some signings , go figure.

Prob more to do with Management then the coach. Don't get me wrong I am glad Elliott's gone. There were issues that hampered him.

A good management team gets players in to help more forward. He had great juniors to work with yet nothing. A good coach could make that work. He couldn't.

I listed the similarities between the 2 coaches pre Penrith & 1st year here. Hopefully in 7 years we aren't saying Cleary's time here was crap.

And Elliot had a plethora of promising juniors to develop and developed exactly f**k all.

Cleary put in structures at the Warriors to have the under 20's and then developed them to perfection ready for first grade when they first came in.

If it wasn't for his guidance those guys wouldn't have progressed anywhere.

What great signings? Lilyman was noone when he signed there, neither was Luck. Both flourished under him. Steve Price?...yeah maybe...Brent Tate was always injured...Maloney was a reserve grader at the Storm and Seymour was a reserve grader at the Sharks.

I'm curius as to who were these great signings that were made? Or are you just looking at the result...and saying that they are great signings.

We've already seen this year the change in our junior structure has reaped rewards. In 1-2 years these under 20's guys will be ready to contribute on a regular basis LIKE he did at the Warriors.

People seriously don't remember that for the prior two years the only young guy to debut for us was freakin Fatiaki....how many young kids have we used so far this year? Guys that Gould and Cleary SCOUTED and brought in cheap because we had salary cap constraints and have proven with development to be pretty good players.

Elliot had his freakin chance to put his structures in place...had a "warchest" and did sweet f**k all with the opportunity.

Gould/Cleary have come in...brought in young guys to compete, improved the lower grades, identified areas of weakness in the team and are focusing on improving them. We've signed four guys in their prime in the middle of the season that want to come here and play under Cleary...and people think Cleary is shit? Yeah Elliot had that sort of pull...getting us Adrian Purtell ffs.

Tough decisions needed to be made and they were made. Losing Flash and Lewis hurts...but it doesn't hurt as much as losing Alexander and Geyer did. It doesn't hurt as much as Ben Alexander passing away. It doesn't hurt as much as 1990 grand final loss.

We need to move on as a club and I definitely trust that based on the results we've seen as a CLUB this year...that we are heading in the right direction.

So the people who are posting pictures on social media outlets of taking their jersey's to the tip, to the people saying they are no longer supporters...good...f**k off. We don't want or need shit like that. And don't give me the "A real supporter can criticise too" bullshit. Yes...you can criticise...but at least stick solid and don't pick up your bat and ball and run to another team. That's just soft. Because all you were looking for was a freakin excuse. And the funny thing is you'll be helping the club you hate now in two years when you have to buy a new jersey because you were too stupid to throw it out at the tip to make a stupid point about a player wanting to move on because they've been here for 11 years in First Grade.

No trolling Mick. Just a fact.

Our clubs joined the same year and we used to have a solid junior base. The dirty stains merge with the steelers and the flow of talent dries up for our mob. Your club is the second favorites for most of us and it is strange how we seem to have players from your club come to us so much.

My meaning was that your club has helped us survive on the player market, when no one else would come here.

Don't mean to rub salt in mate.

I know I'd be gutted if Gal up and left, but seriously only solace I'd have is if he went to you guys, couldn't handle it being anyone else.

My apologies if it came across the wrong way guys.
