All 8 clubs involved are fairly clear about the number of home games your season ticket entitles you to and price them accordingly.

Yep last years price plus 10%

Pity wages arent indexed in the same manner

But ignoring forking out $60 for a day ticket

Its the travel and accomodation costs that makes that price out of my family budget. Let alone having to take Friday and Monday as days off work just to travel

Just like other interstate matches it just becomes just an away TV game for the 6 of us. So you need 6 others to make up our crowd numbers

And yes I will be discussing the home game issue at the club AGM

You should suggest they spend more on game day promotion and less on wrestling coaches so that crowds increase and games don't get taken away.

Maybe one of the game day activities can be wrestling a player and if you win you get a prize

All a cool story, but the NRL and your club don't revolve around you. Perhaps if more fans turned up this wouldn't be an issue?

(hell, I don't even know which club you support because you don't actually show it lol)

Actually I see a increase in wrestling costs coming up due to recent decisions by NRL to suit certain teams that now need to be picked up across all teams

Thats ok Im just a typical supporter who attends games with his family

But with events like this will no longer be attending more and more games

Will more other people attend - I will wait and see

But history has shown these novelty events work for 1 or 2 years and then only about 40% turn up

But its a bit like holding a English Magic weekend in Toronto or the south of France

Claiming you're a typical supporter and represent the views of more than just yourself is laughable, as is the last line of your posts.

Have fun sooking about this some more though.

All that happens when you take more and more games away from people

Is they find something else to do

Thats the facts of life

What used to be a institutiin of Sunday afternoon football has been replaced by family outings, movies etc etc

If your upset I cant afford $1000 to take a family to Queensland - well boo hoo to you

Its now over to the NRL to prove they can find other supporters

As has been mentioned, if clubs were getting 20k plus crowds they’d be no need for taking games on the road. As it is you’ll get to watch your club at least ten times at home, and quite a few away if you’re a Sydney club fan. Better than a lot of nrl fans, some of us who don’t have any.

I’m just not sure about this concept. Maybe if all the profits go to Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston I could get onboard.

What are you on?

YOU are upset about this event - you're the one making it a massive deal, as though a home game you've paid for is being taken away from you (its not).

"What used to be an institution of Sunday afternoon football" is the dumbest thing you've ever written - 2018 and 2019 have the most Sunday arvo Sydney games of any season since expansion.

But keep crying :)

The question is will the magic weekend draw a bigger aggregate crowd than it would if played at the regular venues.

Prediction for magic weekend
Thurs - 15k (i am being exceedingly generous here)
Fri - 50k
Sat - 40k
Sun - 35k
Total - 140k

Predictions if played at regular venues

Sharks/titans - 12k
Wests/panthers (WSS) - 15k
Manly/Broncos - have to credit this to suncorp as manly have taken this game there the last couple of years 35k
Dogs/knights - 17k
Warriors/dragons - 18k
Storm/eels - 16k
Roosters/Raiders - 12k
Souths/cowboys - 14k
Total - 139k

Year 1 will be on par due to its novelty value

Its year 3 where you will really see the drop off

Your preaching to the converted

But many other fans just prefer to watch on TV and avoid all of costs and hassles

NRL is a TV product these days

Manly-Broncos was part of a double header. I'd say any crowd for that at Suncorp as a standalone match would be closer to 28-30k if that.

Bulldogs-Knights got 13k at Belmore last year on a Sunday arvo. Sat 3pm at ANZ would be a similar prospect if not worse.

Storm-Eels only got 12k this year and I wouldn't bank on that improving unless something dramatic changed for Parra either. The rivalry between them isn't there anymore.

As such I'd be going closer to 125K if it were a standalone round.

So no - though so
You can't actually dispute what I'm saying so you're creating a distraction, it's fairly obvious.

Put simply, this will likely be a reasonable success. Your willing it to fail is amusing.

No I asked if you were putting cold hard cash to attend
