there might be nobody like this available on the open market, but id go halfway between your two choices and pick someone in their mid 20s with good first grade experience but not so old they are looking to retire in 3 years as i said i want to see them have a good 4-5 years at the club (not to say if we signed crocker he couldnt play for another 4 years but its unlikely)

Crocker is 28. Hardly over the hill. He can hardly do us any worse than what we had last year.

just for Ronny's benefit, because we all know that Burt flew the planes into the Twin towers and we can never forgive him for it, but Oake and Weller were the last 2 players signed into top 25 squad late last year, who signed them? why did we sign them? should we have known that Crocker, Matua and the like would of been available then? why did Burt kill 6 million jews in 1942?

i gotta agree with ron on the leading point scorer thing to justify a persons position in a team. crossan and halligan are two crap players that come immediately to mind when i think of high point scorers (though i think burt is a decent winger).

i don't however think he makes enough to be cut and then buy another player that would demand the $$$ that crocker would.
