With the increases in the cap over the next four years, 750k a season is about right for a player like Carney, imo. Of course we're paying overs slightly, but everyone still seems to think in previous cap terms.

4 years is a good deal for him, still, I don't think he'll come.

Ill eat my words, really thought his defence would be found out with the roosters but you haven't even noticed it, maybe it's an attitude thing he's settled in close to family and is playing good footy. He's a lock for origin. If Pearce is there Maloney must be too.

Daley had already stated Pearce will be his halfback and that is a good move, far too early for Reynolds. I also think Carney offers a lot more than Maloney too

I'm a fan but not quite sold on Maloney in big games and high pressure situations at this stage. I suppose you never know until you try. He's been just ok in finals games for the Warriors.

Not quite sure though who would be a better option for NSW.

I was always a Maloney fan, was disappointed to see him go and was equally disappointed that T.L. was dropped in to automatically replace him. He's not even half the player he was made out to be and he never was.

Yeah his defence was a bit average but I saw Maloney putting in 100% every week for the Warriors even though his contract was almost done. Even if it was just him versus Masoe 1-1 he'd throw himself in and make an attempt unlike some of the other jokers last year (Brown, S.J., Fish)

Good to see him going well with the Roosters. With us I want to see a Godinet/Johnson halves pairing because catch-and-pass Thomas is offering nothing.
