But you believe everything in the papers don't you? Didn't they say if he was sacked he wouldn't take over as coach in 2012 anyway.

No, dymock said sometime ago if des came over he would step aside.

however who knows what will happen here.

to clear this up des is NOT sacked. he has been issued with a breach notice, as he is apperently in "serious breach" of contract.

when the interviewer pressed on the breaches and asked is it to do with des taking players? scott penn half grinned and said no more comments and walked away and answered that he has been issued the breach.

he will be sacked no doubt about it. it's manlys way of trying to terminate his contract without paying him LOL.

Most clubs would love to have Des as their coach. No doubt about that. If in the same circumstances as the doggies at the same point in time, I have no doubt others would have gone after him also.

I don't think anyone seriously blames the doggies, most Manly fans say the Board is a joke and have screwed up badly over this whole issue.

I just hope all parties can move on now and get on with the footy in 2012.

If he was any way involved in luring staff (playing or coaching) to a rival club that may well be a breach of contract. Depends what is in the contract.

Yes, I'm a Manly fan and while I don't feel the board have done what was required of them, De$ has ripped apart the club he claims to love. Thankfully blokes who really love the club like Menzies, (Darrell) Williams, Williamson, Lyons and Toovey will be there to see the club rebuilt again. De$ was offered more money when it was too late. De$ had agreed to terms with the dogs months ago so no amount of money was going to change the outcome. He left for the cash, nothing more, nothing less. I don't have a problem with him leaving for money but to gut the club on his way out is disgusting. All respect I had for the bloke has evaporated in the last few weeks.

I have no doubt that he's attempting to poach contracted players to the dogs and inducing them to break contracts

i have no idea how manly hope to prove it to avoid a pay out

Could have been so much different if they made the logical decision to "mutually part ways" in the middle of october. Instead it's all gone to shit. I could see some of his most loyal players leaving the club, even if they weren't intending to do so already.

I know. Apparently the players love him so I cant see them speaking out about him doing this.

Official Statement on Des Hasler

9/11/2011 8:49:41 PM

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Board met this evening and is of the opinion there have been serious breaches of contract by Des Hasler.
The Board has invited Des to explain his actions, in the meantime he has been stood down.
We will not be making further comment until after Des has had the chance to respond.

I can't believe he was in Manly gear just this afternoon and at training today and this has happened so swiftly...

NRL: Manly Sea Eagles stand down coach Des Hasler

Andrew Webster
The Daily Telegraph
November 09, 2011 7:50PM

DES Hasler has been stood down by the Sea Eagles tonight over alleged serious breaches to his contract.

Hasler had intended to coach Manly for the 2012 season, despite signing with the Canterbury Bulldogs from 2013.

But a succession of defections from Brookvale to Belmore prompted Manly officials to stand down Hasler for allegedly inducing players to break their contracts.

He will be given a breach notice and given a chance to defend himself before the Manly board.

The Daily Telegraph revealed this morning that the Manly board would meet today to discuss Hasler’s future at the club.

Board members were locked in tense negotiations for more than six hours discussing Hasler's future.

Since Hasler shocked the NRL by announcing his defection to the Bulldogs, Manly’s recruitment manager Noel Cleal and video analyst Will Badel have signed with Canterbury.

The Bulldogs are also favoured to snare the signature of Sea Eagles’ superstar five-eighth Kieran Foran, who is poised to exercise a get-out clause when Hasler leaves the peninsula.
