hahahaha nice one.
Hmmmm, coaxing players and coaching staff on contract to another club whilst in the head coaching position of Manly? And don't give me the "they have get out clauses". He still cannot coerce players to switch teams regardless of any clauses in their contract.
I've kept out of this argument for the most part but what the hell.....
The Manly Leagues Club board is a shambles of an operation and are reaping what they have incompetently sowed. When Hasler left, yep good luck to him. He'd paid his dues and served the club well so best of British to you.
But this has turned into an all in personal vendetta now. He is out to decimate the club.
Yes many of you will laugh and say "they deserve it". Bravo. Yeah yeah Manly pillaged teams in the 60's and 70's. How many of you people were even alive then???
The bigger picture here is that this is making league in general a bit of a laughing stock and you lot think its funny. Personal Manly agendas aside, does anyone think that this is a good look for league? The AFL would be jerking off to this stuff.
There is no doubt Hasler is in breach of his contract. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either blinded by their Manly hate or just stupid. Take our pick.
I have worked in MANY places where if someone resigns they are marched on the spot. Simple reason being the company the person is leaving do no want their clients and/or other staff members "gotten at" by the outgoing employee.
Hasler said he would coach Manly this season with 100% commitment.....REALLY????
I have had nothing but respect for Des and his decision to leave. But to bring the club to its knees (and I'm not saying the board are not culpible here) is just wrong and he should go with no payout of any contract next year for his actions over the past month.
My two bobs worth and I'm sure it will be shot down, but he has pushed the envelope way too far.
I know this is hard to believe from a Sharks fan, but well said Beav
