Manly don't want Hasler in 2012

yep, so what this basically means is manly dont want to pay des, and are either trying to get him to re-sign so the clauses dont get activated for players or are trying to avoid a pay out fee they cant afford.

i expect that they cant prove des played a role in them signing no way in the world des and greenburg are stupid enough to leave it sloppy so you can bet he wont be sacked for that. it will either be one of two results, he steps down out of respect for his past at manly and manly accept it and pay him a small fee and the dogs pick up the contract for 2012.

option 2 he tells them 2 shove it, they sack him, and all hell breaks loose LOL.

Unless one (or more) of the players had spoken to the board about it, how would they know? There must be some players loyal to Manly who wouldn't turn on the club even for De$. Could be someone like Watmough, he apparantly had a get out clause but was pretty adamant that he had no interest in actioning it.

I know. Apparently the players love him so I cant see them speaking out about him doing this.

Unless one of them he's tried to poach has got the shits with him over his departure, and has broken ranks to manly officials. Highly unlikely i would think but unless someone fesses up, he's taking it to court and he's getting paid.

gotta tip your hat to greenburg.

in all honesty though i dont think manly can prove shit. its an attempt by them to either have des step down and they will take it or des is going to force them to sack him and then end in legal action no doubt. again something manly wont be wanting to go down.

lol Greenberg you smooth operator, he planned this from the start.

I tip my hat to you sir.

You tip your hat to someone planning to get a under contract coach to try and poach under contract players early? You should work for the next Enron, HIH or Arthur Anderson.

Can't imagine one of the players selling Des out. Even if they had no interest of leaving they'd shut their mouth. Imagine if you're a Watmough or a Stewart or whoever hypothetically sells him out. The rest of the playing group would have a contract on your head...

Is he really the type of person to do something like this ?

I would have thought he would have just wanted his support staff and thats it.

No, I tip my hat to the fact that he pulled something like this off.

FYI Des approached the Dogs as reported by RLW mole.

Anyone want to put a few $ on Foran executing that clause and not playing another game for Manly? If the rags are right (big if) his family wants him to play under Hasler his entire career.

I wouldn't tip my hat to such an action and I doubt that was the intention from Greenberg & The Bulldogs.

That would be no different to camp SBW

Could have been so much different if they made the logical decision to "mutually part ways" in the middle of october. Instead it's all gone to shit. I could see some of his most loyal players leaving the club, even if they weren't intending to do so already.
Looks painfully obvious to me, if Des quits Manly have to pay him out.

If he's breached his contract, they no longer have to. Simple.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Most clubs would love to have Des as their coach. No doubt about that. If in the same circumstances as the doggies at the same point in time, I have no doubt others would have gone after him also.

I don't think anyone seriously blames the doggies, most Manly fans say the Board is a joke and have screwed up badly over this whole issue.

I just hope all parties can move on now and get on with the footy in 2012.

I have a different reaction where I hope Des continues to corn hole Manly and then fails miserably with the dirty Dawgs.

Watmough or Catai have that get out clause?

If Brett Stewart has the get out clause, you would naturally think Glen would as well.

Did the board end up getting the premiership rings?

Does Zorba get a role at Belmore as the resident pie eater?

I need info.

Explain what actions ?

hahahaha nice one.

Hmmmm, coaxing players and coaching staff on contract to another club whilst in the head coaching position of Manly? And don't give me the "they have get out clauses". He still cannot coerce players to switch teams regardless of any clauses in their contract.
I've kept out of this argument for the most part but what the hell.....
The Manly Leagues Club board is a shambles of an operation and are reaping what they have incompetently sowed. When Hasler left, yep good luck to him. He'd paid his dues and served the club well so best of British to you.
But this has turned into an all in personal vendetta now. He is out to decimate the club.
Yes many of you will laugh and say "they deserve it". Bravo. Yeah yeah Manly pillaged teams in the 60's and 70's. How many of you people were even alive then???
The bigger picture here is that this is making league in general a bit of a laughing stock and you lot think its funny. Personal Manly agendas aside, does anyone think that this is a good look for league? The AFL would be jerking off to this stuff.
There is no doubt Hasler is in breach of his contract. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either blinded by their Manly hate or just stupid. Take our pick.
I have worked in MANY places where if someone resigns they are marched on the spot. Simple reason being the company the person is leaving do no want their clients and/or other staff members "gotten at" by the outgoing employee.
Hasler said he would coach Manly this season with 100% commitment.....REALLY????
I have had nothing but respect for Des and his decision to leave. But to bring the club to its knees (and I'm not saying the board are not culpible here) is just wrong and he should go with no payout of any contract next year for his actions over the past month.
My two bobs worth and I'm sure it will be shot down, but he has pushed the envelope way too far.

Would be short odds. He said in a interview this season he wanted to play his entire career under Hasler. If Foran goes its not the end of the world if we can lock up Cherry-Evans.

Tip your hat to greenberg?

Hardly, i thought the bloke a genuine breathe of fresh air in the CEO ranks, a forward thinker, someone who would help this code take another step forward, he always conducted himself in the most professional way, if he has indeed planned this entire debacle as being suggested by Dogs fans than he has completely lost all my respect

scum bloke, scum transit lounge club with no values, no development system and no respect

As I have said, I reckon Dave Warwick has said something, signed with the Bulldogs then a week later back out of his contract and re-signed with Manly.
